All rail routes between this pair of countries are 1520mm gauge.

[D] CFM operates to Mamalyha.

(Chernivtsi -) Lipcani CFM - border - border - Medveja CFM (- Larha)

[D] CFM operates all trains.

[D] CFM operates to Larha.

[D] CFM operates to Larha.

(Ocniţa -) Vălcineţ CFM - Mohyliv-Podiľs'kyj UZ (- Zhmerinka)

[D] UZ operates to Ocniţa.

(Rybniţa -) Kolbasnaja CFM - Timkove UZ (- Slobidka)

[D] Freight only. CFM operates to Slobidka. Note that this line passes through Transdnistria between Rybniţa and Kolbasnaja.

(Tiraspol -) Novosavickaia CFM - Kučurhan UZ (- Razdeľnaya)

[E] CFM operates to Kučurhan.

Note that Tiraspol is the "capital" of Transdnistria. The lines from (Ungheni -) Revaca and from (Căinari –) Căuşeni cross into Transdnistria at Tighina/Bender 2 and Tighina/Bender 1 respectively, although Moldova does not recognise Tighina/Bender as a border. A transport blockade was imposed in 2006 but lifted on 1 October 2010. Thus trains 51/52, 65/66, 595 and 641/642 (Odessa - Chisinau) once again run via this route through Transdnistria.

Many local people use the free Căinari – Căuşeni – Tiraspol – Kučurhan staff train. However, foreigners should not travel by this means to Kučurhan as they will not have the correct documentation to enter Ukraine. They should either leave at Tiraspol and then return to Căinari on the staff train or take a bus from Tiraspol bus station (close to the railway station) to Ukraine. The latter will involve paying a small penalty in dollars or euros at the border, as passengers cannot obtain a Transdnistrian entry visa on the staff train.

(Căinari -) Isserliya CFM - Karabucen' (Ukraine) - 121 km (Ukraine) - Basarabeasca CFM

[D] CFM operates between Căinari and Basarabeasca.

Basarabeasca CFM - Serpnevo I UZ (- Berezyne - Arcyz)

[D] Closed to all traffic. There are long-term plans for reopening of the section between Basarabeasca and Berezyne, supported by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).

(Basarabeasca - Taraclia -) 208 km CFM - border - Bolhrad (Ukraine) - border - Greceni CFM (- Etulia)

[D] One CFM local train pair runs daily between Basarabeasca and Etulia. This crossing is officially permitted only to local citizens, but normally other European nationals are tolerated. Succesful journeys from Reni to Basarabeasca have been reported.

(Basarabeasca -) Etulia CFM - Frykecej UZ (- Reni)

[D] Two CFM local train pairs run daily between Etulia and Reni. This crossing is officially permitted only to local citizens, but normally other European nationals are tolerated. Succesful journeys from Reni to Basarabeasca have been reported.

(Galaţi (Romania) -) Giurgiuleşti CFM - Reni UZ

[D] A 1520mm gauge track for freight only runs from the Danube port at Galaţi (Romania) to the transhipment area of Giurgiuleşti (Moldova) and continues to Reni (Ukraine).
