This is part of the former through route from Novi Grad to Knin, now closed to all traffic south of Martin Brod. For the last 14 years an annual excursion organised by [http://rotary-bihac.ba/bs/ Bihać Rotary Club] has run, normally in late June, from Bihać to Martin Brod, in connection with a music festival there. Passengers may be subject to border control procedures, because the railway passes through Croatia, and travel may be in open wagons. The 2017 event was so popular that it ran twice.

Introduction

This list is based on the ŽRS and ŽFBH timetables for the period 10 December 2023 to 14 December 2024. Standard abbreviations are explained here.

Map references for each route entry are given in parentheses ( ). References prefixed "ERA-E" refer to the European Railway Atlas (All-Europe Edition) by M.G. Ball. References prefixed "ERA-R" refer to the European Railway Atlas (Regional Series: Book 3) by M.G. Ball.

Obscure services

Doboj - Zenica

(ERA-E 100C5-101A5; ERA-R 221B4-B3) BH24/1

Doboj to Zenica is the only double-track line in Bosnia Herzegovina, apart from short stretches near to other major towns. At various places the northbound and southbound tracks follow different routes, particularly between Maglaj and Natron, between Tomići and Bradići, between Bradići and Globarica, north of Vinište and several kilometers south of Žepče. There are separate lines on both sides of the Bosna river between Jelina and Zenica, but all passenger trains use that on the east bank. The west bank line runs through Zenica steel works. Note that there has been no passenger service between Doboj and Maglaj since March 2020 due to Covid travel restrictions.

Other sparse services

The following lines have few trains (relative to service levels generally in this country) - fewer than three trains each way on at least three days a week - or do not run each weekday:

- Maglaj - Zenica Two return services daily
- [Sarajevo -] Pazarić - Konjic - Mostar - Čapljina Two return services daily
- Čapljina - Metković (Croatia) [- Ploče] One return service on Fridays / Saturdays / Sundays between 01 June 2024 and 01 September 2024
