This route is normally used by trains between Berlin and Rostock not booked to call at Güstrow.

Stralsund Rügendamm – Wüstenfelde (Abzw Srg)

This east to south curve is used by trains between the Island of Rügen and the Pasewalk or Neubrandenburg lines, if not booked to call at Stralsund Hbf. The overnight trains between Malmö and Berlin (see DE19/103) normally run this way, but have reversed at Stralsund Hbf some years.

Lietzow (Abzw Borchtitz) – Sassnitz Fährhafen [Mukran]

This branch off the Stralsund – Sassnitz line accesses the train ferry to Trelleborg, Sweden. It is used during the summer by the night train between Malmö and Berlin, southbound on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays and northbound on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The train runs between 24 June and 18 August 2019, also 17 April and 29 May from Malmö and 1 April and 13 May from Berlin. Further information is at the Veolia Snälltåget site.
