On 3 August 2011 services to Stasylos were extended 4.2 km southwards to a new station also named Stasylos, the old station being renamed Senosios Stasylos. This new station is 1.3 km north of Šalčininkai halt.
On 05.12.2011, the new border station was Stasylos into operation. This is located 4.2 km south of Stasylos previous station, which in Senosios Stasylos renamed, and 1,3 km from the Hp Šalčininkai The continuing cross-border route to Ліда / Lida. All previously ended in Stasylos passenger trains have been since the 03/08/2011 to the new station extended. Services from Klaipēda to Šilutė were discontinued from 29 May 2011
Since late 1998 the following lines have lost their passenger service:
- Jonaitiškai – Kutiškiai
- [Šiauliai -] Mankiškai - Jonaitiškai - Tauragė - Pagėgiai - Šilutė - Klaipēda (but Klaipēda - Šilutė subsequently reopened)
- Švenčionėliai - Utena
- Šeštokai - Alytus
- [Klaipēda -] Kretinga - Skuodas
- [Vilnius -] Paneriai - Valičiūniai (but has subsequently reopened)
Regular services over the Panevėžys - Anykščiai narrow gauge line ceased from 25 March 2001.
Through Vilnius - Druskininkai LG trains and the Vilnius - Warszawa overnight service, both via Parėččė (Belarus), ceased in 2001, resulting in withdrawal of all trains south of Marcinkonys.
Services between Stasylos and Benjakonī (Belarus) ceased on 19 September 2008 when the summer-only Vilnius - Simferopol’ train pair stopped running.
The Palemonas - Gaižiūnai passenger service was withdrawn on 22 March 2009, but has subsequently been re-instated.
