Revision as of 19:46, 31 December 2013

Introduction

This list is based on the service valid as at 31 December 2013. CP no longer publish a national railway timetable, so the table numbers used (prefixed TCE) are those in the "European Rail Timetable" published by Thomas Cook.

CP's timetable periods nominally coincide with those in the rest of Europe, but in practice timetables are changed on an ad hoc basis, often with little notice.

Standard abbreviations are explained in General Information.

Obscure services

Lisboa Santa Apolónia (Bif. Xabregas) — Chelas

[TCE 693] (25B2-3 not shown; ERA1 21C1) PT14/1

This south to west curve links Santa Apolónia station with Entrecampos and beyond.

6403 05:51 Lisboa Santa Apolónia - Leiria
6409 11:51 Lisboa Santa Apolónia - Leiria
6411 13:51 Lisboa Santa Apolónia - Coimbra B
6413 16:51 Lisboa Santa Apolónia - Leiria
6408 Coimbra B - 13:27 Entrecampos - Lisboa Santa Apolónia
6410 Leiria - 15:27 Entrecampos - Lisboa Santa Apolónia
6416 Leiria - 21:27 Entrecampos - Lisboa Santa Apolónia

Amieira — Reveles (Bif. Verride)

[TCE 693] (17A2) PT13/2

This south to east curve provides a direct route between the Leiria and Coimbra directions, avoiding reversal in the Figueira da Foz area. The line from Caldas da Rainha to Amieira ( and beyond to the junctions with the Coimbra to Figueira da Foz line) will close at the end of January 2012, thereby closing this obscure route.

IR 807 Lisboa Santa Apolónia - 17:37 Louriçal - Coimbra
IR 802 Coimbra - 19:39 Verride - Caldas da Rainha

Deletions since last edition

Valdera (Poceirão west junction) — Pinheiro (Bif. Aguas de Moura Sul) [TCE 697] (26A2) PT13/3

This direct line avoids the more circuitous route via Setúbal. From 11 December 2011 no trains to the Linha do Sul ( Lisboa to Faro) have been routed via Setubal, therefore all trains will use this route which ceases to be obscure.

Alcácer do Sal avoiding line: Monte Novo-Palma (km 59.0) - Grândola (km 94.5)

[TCE 697] (26A1, not shown) PT12/4

This new cut-off avoids the more circuitous route via Alcácer do Sal. From 11 December 2011 no trains have been booked to call at Alcácer do Sal and all passenger trains have run by the new cut-off.

Other sparse services

The following lines have few trains (relative to service levels generally in this country) - fewer than four trains each way on at least three days a week - or do not run every day of the week:

TCE 692 Vilar Formoso - Fuentes de Oñoro (Spain)
Sernada do Vouga - Oliveira de Azeméis
TCE 696 Valença - Tui (Spain)

On the following lines, the train service has been replaced by buses due to planned or emergency engineering work, with uncertain or unknown dates for resumption of rail operation:

TCE 691 Guarda - Covilhã
TCE 693a Pampilhosa - Cantanhede - Figueira da Foz ( Formal closure on 1 January 2012)
TCE 694 Livração - Amarante ( Formal closure on 1 January 2012)
TCE 694 Régua - Vila Real ( Formal closure on 1 January 2012)
TCE 694 Tua - Cachão
