Slovenia - Lines with Obscure or Sparse passenger services

Zidani Most avoiding line: Radeče (km 501) – Rimske Toplice (km 502.5)

Ljubljana Polje (Ljubljana Moste) – BTC City Ljubljana

BTC City is a large shopping centre and entertainment complex in Ljubljana, with a station part way up a 1 km branch off the main line to Zidani Most. Trains run between Ljubljana and BTC City, reversing in the yard at Ljubljana Moste and not calling at Ljubljana Polje. Trains to BTC City are not shown on departure sheets at Ljubljana station, but are displayed on the main departure indicator. The evening working is for visitors to the casino, cinema and other facilities. It is possible to return direct to the city centre on bus 27, which also serves BTC City.
Timings for 2012 - 2013 were shown on the Slovenian Railways website tab Vlak v BTC. However, no timings for 2013 - 2014 are shown as yet. The compilers would appreciate information on whether or not these trains are running in 2014.
Škofja Loka "avoiding line" (km 585.5 – km 586.8)

This line, from the south end of the station avoiding the platforms and taking a more direct course northwards, is normally used by trains not booked to call at this station.
Maribor avoiding line: Maribor Tezno – Maribor Tabor

This north to east curve avoiding Pragersko station is used by trains between the Maribor and Ptuj lines if not calling at Pragersko.

If there is a shortage of diesel units, some trains may be loco hauled at short notice. In this case, the train uses the avoiding line before reversing into Pragersko station. This has been observed with the following trains.

Divača avoiding line: Povir (km 670.5) – Rodik (km 0.5)

A west to south curve avoiding Divača. The train pair from Jesenice to Koper and v.v. that used this curve in summer 2011 did not run in the 2011-2012 timetable and does not run in the 2012-2013 timetable.
Other sparse services
The following lines have few trains (relative to service levels generally in this country) - fewer than four trains each way on at least three days a week:

At weekends, most lines have a very restricted local service, or none at all. This particularly affects the following lines, which have few or no long-distance trains:

Deletions since last edition
The seasonal train which crossed from Rakitovec to Buzet ( Croatia) does not run in the 2012-2013 timetable so is no longer a sparse service.
