This curve is used by trains running directly between Prievidza and Bratislava, avoiding Lužianky. There are regular trains throughout the day and these can be readily identified in the ZSSK timetable as follows:
For northbound trains use timetable 140 and look for trains starting from Bratislava hl.n. or Leopoldov with blanks against stations until a black line starts at Jelšovce and calls at Topoľčany and Prievidza.
For southbound services use timetable 140 and look for trains starting from Prievidza calling at Topoľčany with a black line below as far as Jelšovce and destination Bratislava hl.n.

A small number of services on the Bratislava - Trnava route run to Bratislava-Nové Mesto rather than Bratislava hlavná stanica: they are clearly marked in table 120. Interestingly, this route contains the only burrowing (flying) junction used by passenger services in Slovakia.

This north to east curve was last used between 5 - 23 November 2021 by trains to/from Banska Bystrica and Zvolen reversing at Zvolen nákladná stanica due to local engineering works.

This international route and the station area at Chop are dual gauge 1435/1520 mm. Public passenger services (2 return journeys daily) are 1435 mm gauge, operated by ŽSR. Freight traffic uses the 1520 mm gauge tracks to and from the gauge-changing and transfer facilities in the Čierna nad Tisou area.

As well as the public passenger trains, ŽSR operates unadvertised staff trains on this route. Whilst they most probably run on the 1435 mm gauge lines, the service utilizes a former class 810.8 railcar and there is a slight possibility this runs on the 1520 mm gauge lines from Čierna nad Tisou yard. '''The compilers would appreciate information from anybody visiting the area.''' Although visas are no longer required for Ukraine, the trains are provided for railway staff and border control staff may not permit members of the public to cross the border. They may also use non-passenger locations in both Čierna nad Tisou and Čop.
This electrified single track cross border line closed to passengers at the December 2004 timetable change but is used by freight services and as a diversionary passenger route, fairly regularly in recent years due to major storm damage on the Czech main line. There are extensive engineering works taking place east of Zilina since July 2022 and eastbound trains (in 2023/02)  depart Žilina station normally past St 1 and onto the goods lines via Odchodova Skupina, Odb. Vah, Tranzit, and the flyover to rejoin the main line at Odb. Potok.<br />
Eastbound services run via the western flyover and yard to Varin (if calling there) or via both the western and eastern flyovers to odb. Potok (if not calling at Varin) and that westbound services use the single track main line.

There are extensive engineering works taking place east of Zilina since July 2022 and eastbound trains (in 2023/02) depart Žilina station normally past St 1 and onto the goods lines via Odchodova Skupina, Odb. Vah, Tranzit, and the flyover to rejoin the main line at Odb. Potok.
Eastbound services run via the western flyover and yard to Varin (if calling there) or via both the western and eastern flyovers to odb. Potok (if not calling at Varin) and that westbound services use the single track main line.
