Obscure Services

Raccordement de Folligny: Bifurcation km 74,0 – Bifurcation km 74,9

[ERT 272, fiche Caen-St Lo-Coutances-Granville-Rennes] (ERA-E 27A1; ERA-R 69A4; S+W 26C2) FR24/150

This curve provides a direct connection between Coutances and Granville. Since 9 December 2018 all trains south of Coutances take this curve and call at Granville, rather than using the former route to Folligny which now has no service.

Raccordement de Serqueux: Sommery (Bif. des Bruyères) – Forges-les-Eaux (Bif. des Potiers)

[ERT 270, fiche Paris-Rouen-Le Havre] (ERA-R 70B5; S+W 14A1) FR24/151

This recently-completed curve allows trains to run directly between the Gisors and Rouen lines without having to reverse at Serqueux. Trains between Paris and Rouen may be diverted this way when there is engineering work on the main line. This is indicated by an extended journey time of about 2 hrs 30 mins. Trains with a journey time of around 2 hrs 15 minutes may still use this route but anything less probably indicates diversion between Mantes-la-Jolie, Conflans-Sainte-Honorine and Argenteuil.

The afternoon of 4 November and morning of 5 November 2023 saw trains running via this route. Paris - Rouen/Le Havre services are diverted via Gisors again from 12 noon Saturday to 12 noon Sunday on 6/7 July 2024.
