Introduction

This list is based on the timetable in force from 15 December 2019 until 13 June 2020. Table numbers quoted here are from In Treno Tutt'Italia, the official Trenitalia timetable. Standard abbreviations are explained in General Information. Map references relate to the Schweers+Wall Atlante ferroviario d’Italia e Slovenia.

Two useful symbols exist which show the booked route for trains not calling at a station: in the middle of the train column, a vertical bar "|" means that the train passes through the station without stopping, whereas a dot "." means that the train does not pass through that station but instead takes a different route.

Obscure services

Barcellona-Castroreale (Bivio Terme Vigliatore) – Patti-S Piero Patti

[99] (103D2-104A2) IT20/181

There is a new section of main line between Bivio Terme Vigliatore and Patti-S Piero Patti, but the old route remains in use to serve intermediate stations. All trains use the new line except the relatively small number calling at intermediate stations between Barcellona-Castroreale and Patti-S Piero Patti. Note there is a significant grade separated junction at the east end.

Agrigento Bassa – Porto Empedocle Succursale

[386] (107C3) IT20/182

Trains usually run between Porto Empedocle and Agrigento Centrale in connection with the Sagra del Mandorlo in Fiore (almond blossom festival), which takes place late winter or early spring. There were three round trips on Sunday 11 March 2018, departing Agrigento Centrale at 08:30, 12:30 and 15:40 and returning from Porto Empedocle Succursale at 10:14, 14:09 and 17:22. If trains run in 2020 the expected date is Sunday 8 March.

There have been occasional other excursions to and from Porto Empedocle Succursale.
