Introduction
This list is based on the timetable in force until until 14 December 2013, unless otherwise stated. Standard abbreviations are explained in General Information.
In the heading to each entry the map reference for the line in the Schweers+Wall Eisenbahn Atlas (2007/2008 edition) is shown, in italic, in addition to the reference to M.G. Ball's European Railway Atlas.
Obscure services
Kyhna (Delitzsch Gbf) – Delitzsch unt Bf
[219] (42B3, 58B2) DE13/301
This west to north curve connects the Halle (Saale) – Eilenburg and Leipzig – Bitterfeld lines. It is used by IC and other long distance trains when the line between Halle and Bitterfeld is blocked by engineering work, although RB services are normally replaced by buses.
During the first half of 2013, whilst the direct line between Bitterfeld and Halle Hbf is blocked by engineering work (the precise end date is not yet known), all express services between Halle and Berlin and all Regional services between Halle and Bitterfeld other than those diverted via DE13/303 run this way.
When the main line between Bitterfeld and Halle Hbf is available, this route is used by:
MRB80142/RB26329 | Halle (Saale) Hbf – 22:59 Kyhna – Delitzsch unt Bf
IC61259 | Erfurt Hbf – 06:00 Halle(Saale) Hbf – Berlin-Lichtenberg/Ostseebad Binz (note: seating carriages attached to CNL1259 from Zürich Hbf)
ICE-T1508 | München Hbf – 16:02 Halle(Saale) Hbf – Warnemünde
SSuX | RB26310 | 04:10 Delitzsch unt Bf – Naumburg (Saale) Hbf
ICE-T1509 | Warnemünde(SO)/Berlin-Gesundbrunnen(SX) – 10:45 Berlin Südkreuz – München Hbf
IC61258 | Ostseebad Binz/Berlin-Lichtenberg – 23:10 Bitterfeld – Erfurt Hbf (note: seating carriages attached to CNL1258 to Zürich Hbf) |
Kyhna (Delitzsch Gbf) – Zschortau (Delitzsch Abzw Ah)
[504] (42B3, 58B2) DE13/302
This west to south curve connects the Halle (Saale) – Eilenburg and Leipzig – Bitterfeld lines. It is used by the following trains in order to avoid reversal at Halle (Saale) Hbf.
FO | IC1951 | Frankfurt am Main Hbf – 19:54 Halle (Saale) Hbf – Leipzig Hbf
FO | IC2155 | Frankfurt Flughafen Fbf – 22:08 Halle (Saale) Hbf – Leipzig Hbf
See note | IC2257 | Frankfurt am Main Hbf – 00:13 Halle (Saale) Hbf – Leipzig Hbf
MO | IC1950 | Berlin Gesundbrunnen – 02:04 Leipzig Hbf – Frankfurt am Main Hbf |
Note: IC2257 runs this way unless it takes DE13/205
Halle Hbf (Gröbers Bbf) – Gröbers Süd and Schkeuditz – Leipzig-Wahren via third line (6387) and Leipzig-Wahren – Wiederitzsch – Rackwitz (Abzw. Leipzig Messe Nord)
[251] (46A3-46B3 partly shown, 130D2-131C2) DE13/303
During the first half of 2013, until the reinstatement of the direct line between Bitterfeld and Halle Hbf (the precise date is not yet known), services on line RB80 (Halle - Lutherstadt Wittenberg) take a circular route from Wittenberg via Bitterfeld - Delitzsch Gbf - Halle Hbf - Wiederitzsch - Bitterfeld and back to Wittenberg.
Anticlockwise, departures from Halle Hbf every two hours from 07:06 to 19:06, plus:
SSuX | RB26282 | 05:37 Halle Hbf - Magdeburg Hbf (see note below)
SSuX | RB26296 | 14:38 Halle Hbf - Magdeburg Hbf (see note below)
SSuX | RB26300 | 16:38 Halle Hbf - Magdeburg Hbf (see note below)
SSuX | RB26242 | 17:41 Halle Hbf - Bitterfeld |
Note: RB26282, RB26296 and RB26300 are the only trains booked to use Line 6387. Whether they actually do so will depend on the freight traffic running at that time.
Clockwise, the only train booked by this route is:
SSuX | RB26225 | Lutherstadt Wittenberg - 06:45 Bitterfeld - Halle Hbf |
Leipzig-Leutzsch – Leipzig Hbf (Leipzig-Mockau) (via Wiederitzsch)
[550, 580] (46A3-46B3, 131C3-131B3) DE13/304
This is a longer route between Leipzig-Leutzsch and Leipzig Hbf via the freight ring line. It is used by the following trains:
- Departures from Leipzig Hbf: MRB80291 (04:30), IC2156 26 July - 18 August (04:37), RB26447 (04:57), ICE1746 6 July - 18 August (12:57), IC1958 (15:30).
- Arrivals at Leipzig Hbf: ICE1706 (05:46), MRB80282 (06:18), ICE1745 6 July - 18 August (12:46), IC1955 (18:33), IC2253 (20:18), IC2151 6 July - 18 August (20:52), MRB80312 (21:27).
Rackwitz (Abzw. Leipzig Messe Nord) – Engelsdorf (via Leipzig-Mockau, Leipzig-Thekla and Leipzig-Schönefeld)
(46B3, 131C3-131D3) DE13/305
This route enables trains to run between the Berlin and Dresden lines without having to reverse at Leipzig Hbf. It is used by the following train diverted from the Dresden main line.
H1 | FSO | EN476 | Budapest Keleti pu – 06:04 (SSuO) Decin hl.n. – Berlin Hbf |
H1: 6 July 2013 - 14 December 2013 from Budapest.
Leipzig-Paunsdorf (Abzw Püchauer Straße) – Leipzig Ost (Abzw Torgauer Straße)
[500] (46B3, 131C3) DE13/306
Trains between Riesa and the lines to the west, which need to access the middle platforms (11, 14 and 15) at Leipzig Hbf to reverse, use this link between the Riesa and Altenburg lines to avoid conflicting movements. All trains between Dresden and the Erfurt or Magdeburg lines use this route. These are principally IC and ICE trains to and from Dresden.
Leipzig-Plagwitz – Gaschwitz
[527, 530] (46A2-46B2, 58B3) DE13/307
All trains between Leipzig and Gaschwitz are using this line during 2013, whilst the route via Leipzig Stötteritz is out of use for engineering work. When the City Tunnel line via Bayerische Bf enters service in December 2013, this route will lose its service.
Oschatz – Glossen (b Oschatz) (Döllnitzbahn GmbH)
(43A2, 59B3) DE13/308
The Döllnitzbahn operates a limited service over this 750mm gauge line, which is not shown in the Kursbuch. Steam trains operate to Glossen occasionally, but the only regular trains over the full length of the line are:
SSuX | DBG104 | 13:11 Oschatz Hbf – Glossen (b Oschatz)
SSuX | DBG107 | 14:26 Glossen (b Oschatz) – Oschatz Hbf |
There is currently no service to Kemmlitz (b Oschatz). For further information see www.doellnitzbahn.de.

This is the direct route from Elsterwerda to Dresden via Radebeul and is common with DE13/310 south of Abzw. Kottewitz. It is used by the small number of IC and EC trains between Berlin and Dresden Hbf which are scheduled to call at Dresden-Neustadt.
Weißig (Abzw. Leckwitz) – Abzw. Kottewitz – Radebeul West (direct, not via Priestewitz)
[500] (44B3 to 45A1 partially shown, 59D3-59D4) DE13/310
This is the direct route from Riesa to Dresden via Radebeul and is common with DE13/309 south of Abzw. Kottewitz. It is used by IC and ICE trains between Leipzig and Dresden Hbf which are scheduled to call at Dresden-Neustadt; RE services run via Priestewitz.
Großenhain Berliner Bf – Abzw. Kottewitz – Radebeul-Naundorf (direct, not via Priestewitz)
[240] (44B3 to 45A1, 59D3-59D4) DE13/311
This line is used by trains between Berlin and Dresden Hbf which are not scheduled to call at Dresden-Neustadt and is common with DE13/312 south of Abzw. Kottewitz. There are EC/IC services approximately every two hours but usage of the route via Radebeul-Naundorf will decrease in coming years.
Weißig (Abzw. Leckwitz) – Abzw. Kottewitz – Radebeul-Naundorf (direct, not via Priestewitz)
[500] (44B3 to 45A1 partially shown, 59D3-59D4) DE13/312
This line is used by IC and ICE trains between Leipzig and Dresden Hbf which are not scheduled to call at Dresden-Neustadt. However, usage of the route via Radebeul-Naundorf will decrease in coming years. It is common with DE13/311 south of Abzw. Kottewitz.
Radebeul Ost (Abzw. Dresden-Pieschen) – Dresden-Neustadt W 707
[241, 245, 500] (45B1, 73A3) DE13/313
This route through the former Dresden Neustadt Gbf (Strecke 6246) is traversed by RE services from Leipzig Hbf to Dresden Hbf, and only in that direction, shown to call at Dresden-Neustadt Gleis 10. Gleis 10 is a temporary platform at Neustadt. This line will not be used again by passenger services after the autumn of 2013.
Dresden Hbf (south side high level) – Dresden-Plauen (Dresden-Altstadt) (via goods spur)
[510, 510.3] (45B1, 73A3) DE13/314
Trains to and from the Chemnitz line normally use the middle (low level) or north side (high level) platforms at Dresden Hbf. This spur provides access to the south side (high level) platforms 1 to 5.
Dresden-Plauen (Abzw Freital Ost) - Tharandt
[510] (44A2 not shown, 72D4) DE13/315
A single-track goods line runs to the north of the main line, and at lower level, between Freital Ost and Tharandt. At Freital-Hainsberg it is on the far side of the narrow-gauge station and yard from the main line. It may be used by trains with no station stops between Dresden Hbf and Tharandt, particularly westbound.
