Poland - Lines with Obscure or Sparse passenger services
Introduction
These entries are for the timetable period from 15 December 2024 to 13 December 2025. Standard abbreviations are explained here.
In connection with all mentions below of map view in the PKP Journey Planner, after a suspension during the latter parts of 2024, in theory it is available again, but initial experience is finding it is not displaying routes on all attempts. After your A to B journey planner query, it is no longer accessed via the "three dots" above "Connection Details", instead click on "Connection Details" and on the top of the next screen under the Journey summary are three options. Select the middle one Route on the Map [train traffic simulation] but sometimes this does nothing, sometimes it will load only the map, sometimes it will load the route.
It should be noted the timetable is completely reissued four times a year, these "adjustments" are due on 9 March, 15 June, 31 August and 26 October 2025. Even so, travellers are strongly advised to check the Journey Planner and PDFs for ALL Unusual lines timings as revised PDFs are issued weekly, usually on Friday or Saturday in-between those dates. The PDF issue date is in small font at the bottom left of each page.
Trains numbers can change en route, i.e. IC 26100 to 26101 and the entries below attempt to show the train number for the section in the entry. Even the PKP Journey Planner advises "Be careful, the train number may change on the route and does not necessarily coincide with the number on your ticket"!...
A number of one-off specials were included in the full year PDFs in 2016, mainly excursions run by Turkol, but nothing similar until 2024 when a few PKP run trains to Czestochowa for Pilgrims on just one day in the year were shown in the initial all year PDFs, but later deleted before running. Turkol still run frequent Tours, many including freight-only track [which will not be EGTRE Unusual Line entries] so anyone interested is strongly advised to become familiar with the Turkol website. Recent examples have included trips around Katowice, and into Gdansk and Gdynia Docks.
There are no longer any timetabled special services via unusual routes to Kostrzyn for the Woodstock Music Festival (Przystanek Woodstock), which was the largest free annual music festival in Europe. It has morphed into Pol'and'Rock, held in early August until 2023 at an airfield just north of Szczecinek, in 2024 near Czaplinek, on the Szczecinek - Runowo Pomorskie line. The 2024 additional services were DMU shuttles between Szczecinek and Runowo Pomorskie and a few extra or extended PKP services to/from Szczecinek.
Map references for each route entry are given in parentheses ( ). References prefixed "ERA-E" refer to the European Railway Atlas (All-Europe Edition) by M.G. Ball. References prefixed "ERA-R" refer to the European Railway Atlas (Regional Series: Book 3) by M.G. Ball. References in italic are to Mały Atlas Linii Kolejowych Polski 2022 by M. Stiasny.

Now all of Poland is on one Wiki page, please use CTRL F to find geographic locations or key words. This does not require accents.
Białystok area
Białystok - Białystok Zielone Wzgórza - Białystok Starosielce
[535] (ERA-E 76B2; ERA-R 179B; C12/R4) PL25/1
There are two single track routes from Białystok to Białystok Starosielce,
- Option [A] the short curve [line 38] previously used by passenger services in both directions, and
- Option [B] a long curve [line 515] initially following table 543 towards Bielsk Podlaski before curving away north over the Warszawa main line.
Note these curves are not used as a grade separated junction as since both have been available there is scheduled use of the long curve [B] outbound from Białystok and short curve [A] inbound from Ełk. This pattern continues in the Peron sheets in 2025 as the booked route can be established as a new station named Białystok Zielone Wzgórza opened on 3 September 2023 situated at the Białystok Starosielce/Bielsk Podlaski line split. The station has four platform faces, two on the Warszawa main line, plus one each on tracks leading to the short or long curves so check the Białystok Zielone Wzgórza Peron sheets as any booked to call at Białystok Zielone Wzgórza Peron 1 track 1 must use the short curve [A] and Peron 2 track 3 the long curve [B].
Białystok Peron 4 - Line 556 - Białystok Zielone Wzgórza peron 2 track 3 OR Bielsk Podlaski line
[535] (ERA-E 76B2; ERA-R 179B; C12/R4) PL25/2
Line 556 runs from the south east side of Białystok station through the middle of the freight yards to Białystok Zielone Wzgórza and from December 2023 the majority of trams to/from Bielsk Podlaski or a few to/from Elk ran that way as a consequence of Platforms 2 & 3 at Białystok main station being demolished. Use of this route was confirmed in numerous reports.
The rebuilding of the station was completed in 2024 and there is no longer a requirement to use this obscure route. Map view confirms main line running.
Bydgoszcz area
Bydgoszcz Wschód - line 201 - Nowa Wies Wielka - [Inowrocław]
[430] (ERA-E 75A2; ERA-R 176C5; R3/C6) PL25/3
No service in the 2024-25 timetable. A daily service by one late night train from Bielsko Biala Główna to Bydgoszcz ran by this route from December 2022 until December 2024.
Bydgoszcz Główna
[425] (ERA-E 75A2, not shown; ERA-R 176C5; R3) PL25/4
The station building splits the lines to Inowrocław and Piła and at the west end it is possible to arrive or depart from the "wrong" side using connections:-
[A] is a 200m link only possible between platform IV and the Piła line, or
[B] from platforms I - III to/from the Inowrocław line via a 350m connection to track 205 which for 750m runs parallel to the main line.
[A] Two SSuX arrivals in 2023, but none in the 2024-25 timetable
[B] Trains departing platforms 1-3 to/from the Inowrocław line in the 2024-25 timetable period. Only trains 55537 and 51205 can be definitely confirmed using map view.

OpenRailwayMap shows a second possible connection to/from Piła via line 745 that runs on the south side of the option [B] goods yard to curve underneath the Inowrocław main line, but this has never been reported as used by any passenger services. Check the Peron sheets for up to date details.
Chabowka and Sucha Beskidzka (on the Kraków to Zakopane line)
Sucha Beskidzka
[135] (ERA-E 78B2; ERA-R 185B5; G8) PL25/5
All services between Kraków and Zakopane had to reverse at Sucha Beskidzka until an avoiding curve opened on 11 June 2017. By 2024 Kraków - Zakopane IC trains run via the avoiding line calling at a new station Sucha Beskidzka Zamek, but most local services to/from Chabówka use the North to West and South to West curves calling at Sucha Beskidzka.
Chabówka – Rabka Zdrój – Nowy Sącz
[136] (ERA-E 78C2; ERA-R 185C5-186A5; H8/9) PL25/6
The 2024/25 135 PDF showedthe only previously electrified section from Chabówka to Rabka Zdrój re-opening on 13 March 2025, but this did not happen. Chabówka to Rabka Zdrój services were suspended from 1 September 2022, following closure east from Rabka Zdrój after 29 August 2021 to allow work to commence to modernise or replace this route by a high speed line from Podłęze near Kraków to both Chabówka and Nowy Sącz, joining the existing formation at a sizable triangular junction.
After the through passenger services was withdrawn on 1 September 2018, specials were run from Nowy Sącz to Rabka Zaryte by the Voivodship through Małopolskie Szlaki Turystyki Kolejowej worked by diesel SM42-1031 website here. In earlier years there were also steam specials run by The Chabówka Museum but for 2024 they link to the Małopolskie Szlaki Turystyki Kolejowej website as above... A previous years website Gen post implied passengers were being carried to/from the Skansen, their website saying "passengers getting on or off the train at the Skansen in Chabówka are obliged to buy an entrance ticket in accordance with the price list. If you are not interested in accessing the Skansen, please go to the Chabówka railway station where all retro trains also stop." However a 2022 traveller on a MSTK special advised no travel into the Skansen was allowed.
Chabówka and the new avoiding line
[135] (ERA-E 78C2; ERA-R 186A5; H8) PL25/7
A newly constructed north to south avoiding curve opened on 22 December 2023, with trains using it running non-stop or calling at a new Chabówka Stadion station to the south of the curve. Some services still run in and out of Chabówka using what are now the north to east and east to south curves and a reversal [double running one stop further to Rabka Zdrój when this line reopens. Services using the avoiding curve show a < at Chabówka and Rabka-Zdrój.
Chełm area
Chełm – Dorohusk – Jagodin (Ukraine)
[550/M401] (ERA-E 79C54; ERA-R 184C5; F13) PL25/8
Two parallel unelectrified lines cross the Poland/Ukraine border here, standard gauge (1435mm) and broad gauge (1520mm). Both have scheduled passenger services as at December 2024.
Standard gauge line to Ukraine
Used by the Warszawa – Kiev (and v.v.) overnight train pair on the 1435mm gauge tracks to/from Jagodin where gauge changing takes place by means of bogie exchange. PKP diesel traction is needed for the short cross-border journey from Dorohusk.
Note this is the only standard gauge passenger service east of Chełm. Due to westbound punctuality issues, from a date in Spring 2022 it has been known for the Kiev - Warszawa to run separately from a Dorohusk - Warszawa service run to the quoted timings.
Broad gauge line to Ukraine
Before the war, after no service for many years, a daytime pair using Ukrainian DMUs commenced running through to Chełm on 12 June 2017, initially successful and increased to two pairs, subsequently reduced to one in December 2018. Then allegedly due to a Customs dispute with the Polish Authorities concerning fuel duty this pair only ran cross border to Dorohusk [with a bus to/from Chełm] from 9 June 2019, but even this service was withdrawn after running on the 18 June 2019.
In use again by Ukrainian refugee services from February 2022, then by a pair of scheduled services from 4/5 May 2022, with additional services added later. Note these broad gauge services are not shown in the 550 PDF but are included in the PKP Journey Planner and on the Chelm Platform sheets.
Chełm - Włodawa
[558] (ERA-E 79C4-C5; ERA-R 185B5-C5; E13/F13) PL25/9
This otherwise freight only branch has had a sponsored summer weekend only service in recent years and it is usual for a PDF to appear later in the year, as once again it was not showing in those issued in December 2024. There were two train pairs SSuO from 29 June until 1 September in 2024.
Note an approved kolej+ re-opening bid will mean replacement of the currently used last 10km by a new alignment north of Okuninka Białe via Okuninka to a new station at Włodawa Miasto as the current Włodawa station is 4km from the town centre. A construction start is planned for 2027.
CMK connections (Centralna Magistrala Kolejowa connections off the Warszawa to Katowice/Kraków high speed line)
Koniecpol – Kozłów (p.odg. Starzyny)
[107, 109] (ERA-E 78B4; ERA-R 182C3; F8) PL25/10
Used by services in Table 109 with a timing at Kraków and Częstochowa/Częstochowa Stradom but not running via Kielce. This 11 km line reopened to passengers with the 2012 timetable.
[Częstochowa –] Żelisławice – Włoszczowa Północ [– Warszawa]
[100/109/P200/175] (ERA-E 78C4; ERA-R 183C3; F8) PL25/11
This 7.7 km west to north link between the Częstochowa - Kielce line and the CMK is used by the following services:
- PR services between Częstochowa and Włoszczowa Północ (since 11 June 2023).
- Non-stop EIC Pendolinos between Warszawa Zachodnia and Częstochowa stations, identified in Table 109 by a '|' symbol at Włoszczowa Północ and nothing between Czarnca and Kielce
[Kielce –] Czarnca – Włoszczowa Północ [– Częstochowa]
[109] (ERA-E 78C4; ERA-R 183C3; F8) PL25/12
This 3.3km east to north curve is used by all local services between Kielce and Włoszczowa Północ. Some of these continue to (or start from) Częstochowa, reversing at Włoszczowa Północ and using route PL25/11. The curve [line 582] opened on 11 December 2022 but did not come into limited passenger use until 11 June 2023, with a full service from 3 September 2023.
[Kielce –] Czarnca – Żelislawice [– Częstochowa]
[109] (ERA-E 78C4; ERA-R 183C3; F8) PL25/13
A consequence of the new east to north curve to the CMK opening is use of the 6.7km east - west main line as per the heading dropped significantly from 3 September 2023. These can be identified in the 109 PDF by a < at Włoszczowa Północ plus timings or a | at Czarnca and Żelislawice.
Psary – p.odg. Starzyny – Kozłów
[100] (ERA-E 78B4-C4; ERA-R 182C3; F8) PL25/14
This north - southeast link with the Koniecpol - Kozłów line is used by all trains using the CMK between Warszawa and Kraków. Unfortunately recent PDF's are incorrectly showing a < rather than '|' against Kozłów so these can now be identified by a call or a "|" at both Włoszczowa Północ and Miechów.
Czarnca – Psary (p.odg. Knapówka)
[100, 109] (ERA-E 78C4; ERA-R 182C3; F8) PL25/15
This 3.8 km east - south link with the Kielce - Częstochowa line is used by services marked in table 109 with a '<' at all stations between Włoszczowa Północ and Częstochowa stations plus a timing at Katowice.
PolRegio withdrew their semi-fast Kielce - Katowice services, so in 2024/25 there are three IC pairs daily via this curve which despite using the CMK do not appear in table 100.
(Tomaszów Mazowiecki – Dęba Opoczyńska –) p.odg. Zapowiedź – Idzikowice
[100,113,114] (ERA-E 78C5; ERA-R 183A5; E9) PL25/16
Shared as far as p.odg. Zapowiedź with table 113, the IC or new for 2025 PR services shown in Tables 113 with stops at Opoczno Południe are the only services covering the 4.5 km west to south curve to/from the CMK.
Radzice – Idzikowice (Line 573)
[100/113] (ERA-E 78C5; ERA-R 183A5; E9) PL25/17
No scheduled use in 2024/25, last use by diversions was from 16 to 24 September 2024. Note all recent use has involved a reversal at Idzikowice and to note they did not then appear in table 100.
Coal Trunk Line (Magistrala węglowa) From Herby Nowe to Zduńska Wola Karsznice and Inowrocław, with connecting routes and curves
The Magistrala węglowa (Coal Trunk Line) is a major south - north freight artery which, for EGTRE purposes, can be considered as running from Herby Nowe through Zduńska Wola Karznice to Inowrocław. This 258 km route was table 315 in old PKP timetables, but after its local passenger service ended in December 2012 it only appeared intermittently, and entries in it (with the exception of the Warszawa - Inowrocław Rąbinek - Poznan pair listed below) didn't run via historic 315, as any seasonal and part line diversionary uses were not included! So it was not unexpected when local passenger services resumed on 15 December 2024 between Zdunska Wola via Zdunska Wola Karznice and Chorzew Siemkowice to Częstochowa that it was all included in 315 despite the 48km of Chorzew Siemkowice to Częstochowa being historically a separate table 173!
There are numerous curves and connections with the Coal Trunk Line so a route-based approach has been taken with every connection or section given a number in the schematic diagram below. These are then quoted in the headings of each entry to allow easy identification of those in use. For example the reinstated Zdunska Wola to Częstochowa service will use diagram numbers 2, 3 & 5.
Considering many combinations have had no service for two timetable years, only those confirmed as used in 2024 or planned for 2025 remain. Timings are given from the last point before travel on any part of the Coal Trunk Line.

[Częstochowa -] Częstochowa Aniołow (p.odg. Wyczerpy) – Chorzew Siemkowice - Zdunska Wola Karznice - Zdunska Wola 2,3,5
[Ex 173, 315] (ERA-E 78A4/78B5 ERA-R 182B4/177B1 F7/E7) PL25/18
A limited local passenger services resumed on 15 December 2024 and is in the 315 PDF. Note that the northbound and southbound tracks from the grade separated junction at podg Wyczerpy, north of Częstochowa run on significantly different vertical alignments and remain separate for 3 km as far as Rząsawa.

There are additional services between Częstochowa and Chorzew Siemkowice
Note A: 15 December 2024 to 8 March 2025. From then on some journeys are not shown as running the complete route but they are databased to do so in the Journey Planner
[Częstochowa -] Częstochowa Aniołow (p.odg. Wyczerpy) – Chorzew Siemkowice - Zdunska Wola Karznice - p.odg Dionizów - Ponętów - p.odg. Borysławice - Inowrocław Rąbinek - line 742 - Inowrocław 2,3,6,9,12,15,17
[102, 173, 315] (ERA-E 78A4; ERA-R 182B4; F7) PL25/19
Note that the northbound and southbound tracks from the grade separated junction at podg Wyczerpy, north of Częstochowa run on significantly different vertical alignments and remain separate for 3 km as far as Rząsawa and this pair are booked via code 17, the short east side curve between Inowrocław and Inowrocław Rąbinek. Inowrocław.

(Kutno –) Kłodawa – p.odg. Zamków – p.odg. Borysławice – Inowrocław Rąbinek – p.odg. Dziarnowo (– Poznań) 13,15,16
[B170, 300, 315] (ERA-E 75B1; ERA-R 177A2; D7) PL25/20
Daily use continues in 2024/25. This route is via the east to north curve from the Warszawa - Poznań line on to the Coal Trunk Line and the curve off it at podg Dziarnowo north of Inowrocław Rąbinek onto the Inowrocław - Gniezno - Poznań main line.
Click on the thumbnail for a full size map.

This routing saw numerous diversions whilst parts of the Warszawa - Poznań main line (T300) were being upgraded, but when that completed one all year daily train pair calling at reopened stations on the Coal Trunk Line at Babiak, Piotrków Kujawski and more recently Inowrocław Rąbinek have continued.

(Kutno –) Kłodawa – p.odg. Zamków – p.odg. Borysławice – Inowrocław Rąbinek – ?? to/from - Inowrocław 13,15, then 17 or 18
[B170, 300, 315] (ERA-E 75B1; ERA-R 177A2; D7) PL25/21
No scheduled use in 2024/25. Last use of this combination was by a short term diversion in early September 2024 of the PL25/25 service via the northern part of 315 to run via Inowroclaw station to reverse, but with map view unavailable the booked route of the two possible between Inowrocław Rąbinek and Inowrocław was not confirmed until a traveller on the northbound on 3 September advised it took curve 742, code 17.
Czechowice Dziedzice area, including Chybie
Czechowice Dziedzice avoiding line: Goczałkowice Zdrój (p.odg. Most Wisła) – Zabrzeg (p.odg. Ochodza)
[146, 147] (ERA-E 77B1; ERA-R 188C3; H7) PL25/22
The north-to-west curve avoiding Czechowice Dziedzice is used by all trains between Goczałkowice and Zabrzeg in table 146 and those to and from Katowice in table 147 with a '<' symbol against Czechowice Dziedzice.
This curve was vertically and horizontally re-aligned in 2021 with the north end junction to/from Czechowice Dziedzice relocated further north. The changes are clearly illustrated on OpenRailwayMap.
Czechowice-Dziedzice (p.odg Ochodza) – via Zabrzeg Czarnolesie Goods line 693 to (p.odg Bronów) – Chybie
[146/147/148] (ERA-E 77B1, not shown; ERA-R 182A1; H7) PL25/23
Use of this 4km alternative route is normally identified by < markers at Zabrzeg and Zabrzeg Czarnolesie. The 2025 PDFs for all 146, 147 and 148 services between 9 March and 14 June 2025 [plus westbound 147 IC's from 9 March to 13 December 2025] originally showed calls or a | at Zabrzeg and only a < marker at Zabrzeg Czarnolesie while PKP Map view showed diversions via the Yards. However, the < markers at Zabrzeg Czarnolesie disappeared in the March 9 2025 timetable revision.
Reports are requested as 2024 Map view plotted three PDF shown diverted services between 1 September and 9 November 2024 taking the same nearest the main line option on the south side of Zabrzeg Czarnolesie goods yard as the previous passenger use [from March 2020 until 13 March 2021], but then a TLK on 23 October ran via line 693 on the far north of the yard.
Chybie – Chybie Mnich (p.odg Bieniowiec) (– Skoczów)
[146/146a] (ERA-E 78B2; ERA-R 182A1; H7) PL25/24
The usual all year SSuO train pair is joined by a second pair, plus from 9 March - 14 June, in use by all table 146 services to/from Skoczów via a reversal at Chybie.

Żory – Chybie
[146a/154] (ERA-E 77A1; ERA-R 188C2; G6-H7) PL25/25
Some intermediate stations have re-opened in advance of a pending kolej+ scheme as per table 146a for the limited use by those boxed in the table above in PL25/24.
Not shown in 146a is additional use by non-stop IC/TLK's that can be identified in 154 by < markers between Żory and Czechowice-Dziedzice, much increased for 2024/25 as Żory - Pszczyna is closed for engineering work. They also appear in table 151 with < markers between Wroclaw Glowny and Czechowice-Dziedzice en route to/from Bielsko-Biala, or table 148 by relevant route footnotes on disappearing/appearing at Zabrzeg Czarnolesie.
Czerwieńsk
(Sulechów –) podg Czerwieńsk Wsch. – Czerwieńsk – podg Czerwieńsk Płd. (– Przylep)
[334, 355] (ERA-E 74B1; ERA-R 175B2 E2 partially shown) PL25/26
After opening of the south <=> east avoiding curve (podg Czerwieńsk Południe - podg Czerwieńsk Wschodnia) on 9 June 2013, this entry lists the much reduced use of the east junction to/from Czerwieńsk station. These services cross underneath the Zielona Góra line to the south side of the two-sided Czerwieńsk station, and with a reversal, are the only services using a significant connection to/from the Zielona Góra line at the east end of Czerwieńsk station. Hence why the timings towards Gorzów Wielkopolski are shown from Zielona Góra and not Czerwieńsk.
Click on the thumbnail for a diagram:

SSuX | 78571/70 | 14:12 Zielona Góra Główna - Gorzów Wielkopolski
70521/520 | Zbąszynek - 05:42 Sulechów - Zielona Góra Główna |
On re-instatement of the Zielona Góra - Czerwieńsk - Guben [DB] service there may be increased use of the connection to/from the Zielona Góra line at the east end of Czerwieńsk station. This would only be possible going via Peron 3 Track 4 as used by the listed services but the Peron sheets have shown all Guben [DB] services scheduled to use Peron 1 or 2. Any reports of additional use would be appreciated by the Compilers.
Częstochowa Area
Częstochowa (Częstochowa Towarowa) – line 703 – podg Kucelinka – line 155 - Poraj
[102] (ERA-E 78B4; ERA-R 182B3; F7 R15) PL25/27
Limited scheduled use in 2024/25.
What appears to be a grade separated junction for the Częstochowa - Koniecpol line is actually separate routes as line 701 on the east side is used by Koniecpol passenger services in both directions. Note there is no connection between line 701 and line 155 to Poraj at podg Kucelinka.
The west side track is assigned number line 703 and runs through Częstochowa Raków Platform 1 Track 85 before climbing to go over the Katowice main line to podg Kucelinka. Here it joins the passenger route from Częstochowa Stradom to Koniecpol, but the heading as listed diverges almost immediately onto Line 155 south towards Poraj [see also PL25/28 Option [A]].
Services to/from Częstochowa main station actually join 703 at the north end of Częstochowa Towarowa (marshalling yard) and run on the far west side of this yard, (as do any services to/from Częstochowa Stradom via Częstochowa Raków). Note there are a few services that ONLY deviate via line 703 and Częstochowa Towarowa west side during the nights of 25 - 28 January or 24 - 27 February 2025, see the Peron sheets.

Częstochowa Stradom via Częstochowa Raków and/or podg Kucelinka & line 155 - Poraj
[102/175] (ERA-E 78B4; ERA-R 182B3; F7 R15) PL25/28
There are three possible routes between Częstochowa Stradom and Poraj. The booked route can be identified by < markers in table 102.
- [A] From Częstochowa Stradom on the direct line to Koniecpol to/from podg Kucelinka and then via freight line 155, as indicated by a '<' symbol in table 102 against Częstochowa Raków and Korwinów.
- [B] From Częstochowa Stradom via curve 702 to the north end of Częstochowa Towarowa yard, then line 703 on the far west side of the yard to/from a connection with main line 102 to the south of Częstochowa Raków platform 1 Track 85 as indicated by |'s at Częstochowa Raków and Korwinów and no timing at Częstochowa.
- [C] Line 702 and then via entry PL25/27 above with a | at Częstochowa Raków and a '<' at Korwinów. As far as is known this combination has never been used by passenger diversions.
For many years some Częstochowa Stradom to Kraków services had run via option [A] until they changed to [B] from September 2022. Since then for periods just two pairs ran via [B], then none at all until they resumed as shown.

Częstochowa avoiding line: Częstochowa Stradom – Kusięta Nowe (p.odg. Kucelinka) (– Koniecpol)
[109/175/P200] (ERA-E 78B4; ERA-R 182B3; R15) PL25/29
This line enables trains between Wrocław/Herby and Kielce, Częstochowa Stradom & Kraków via Koniecpol or Częstochowa Stradom & Warszawa (via the CMK) or via Poraj Option [A] in PL25/28 avoid reversing at Częstochowa Osobowa (the main station) by calling instead at Częstochowa Stradom. Use can be identified by any of the above services having a < at Częstochowa in table 175.
Dęblin
Dęblin: Zajezierze k. Dęblina (p.odg. Wisła R2) – Zarzeka (p.odg. Wisła R1)
[111/550] (ERA-E 79A5; ERA-R 183C5; E10) PL25/30
This west-to-south curve avoiding Dęblin is used by direct services between Radom and Lublin which appear in table 111 with a '<' symbol against Dęblin.
Dęblin – Stawy
[553] (ERA-E 79A5; ERA-R 178C1; E11) PL25/31
There are two passenger routes approaching Dęblin from the Łuków line which connect to either the north or south ends of Dęblin station forming a balloon loop. The normal mode of operation for some years as confirmed by the Journey Planner map view is for trains from Łuków to Dęblin to arrive at Dęblin using the southern route, [even if they are continuing south and need to reverse in order to do so]. Trains from Dęblin to Łuków use the northern route.
Gdańsk area
Gdańsk Wrzeszcz
[442,443] (ERA-E 75B4, not shown; ERA-R 172B4; R2) PL25/32
There is a flyover as part of the junction for the services via Gdańsk Port Lotniczy or Kartuzy via Star Pila but not all services use it, especially those terminating at Gdańsk Wrzeszcz may use crossovers to access a non-flyover route. Any departure or arrival using Peron II plus through services from Gdańsk Główny are more likely to use the flyover.
Gdańsk Osowa – Rębiechowo
[440] (ERA-E 75A4; ERA-R 172B4; A6 not shown) PL25/33
The direct Gdynia Główna - Kościerzyna/Kartuzy service via this third side of the triangle is very limited compared to the regular services on the other two sides via Gdańsk Port Lotniczy.
Gdańsk Stadion Expo
[Ex 453] (ERA-E 75B4, not shown; ERA-R 172B4 not shown; R2) PL25/34
A 2km section of the long closed, now freight only line towards Gdańsk Nowy Port to a platform near the Stadium is used occasionally in connection with Football or special events. Last confirmed use was on 25 August 2023 with details published on the ZTM local transport Authority website. Note this station and any services do not appear in the PKP Journey Planner.
Gdynia area
Gdynia Główny – Rumia via line 202
[452] (ERA-E 75A5; ERA-R 172B4; R2) PL25/35
There are two routes between Gdynia Główna and Rumia. Line 250 from Gdynia Główna Platforms 1-2 is used mainly by SKM local services via Gdynia Stocznia-Uniwersytet Morski, Gdynia Chylonia Platform 1 and Gdynia Cisowa where it divides either side of Gdynia Cisowa Elektrowozownia EMU depot. The two single lines come back together at Rumia Janowo. Note the south side line at the Depot is bi-directional.
The alternative is line 202 from Gdynia Główna between platforms 3 and 4 (crossovers allow access from other platforms) which passes under and then alongside line 250 on non-platform tracks at Gdynia Chylonia after which it becomes single track and runs to the north side of Cisowa Elektrowozownia EMU depot parallel with 250 to bypass Rumia Janowo platforms. This single track is also believed to be bi-directional and note although largely parallel with line 250 there are significant divergences at the diveunder west of Gdynia Stocznia-Uniwersytet Morski and after Gdynia Cisowa.
The following operating pattern appears to have applied since the December 2021-22 PKP timetable update, with the numbers of exceptions reducing markedly from the 2022-23 timetable:
- Line 250 is used by local services stopping all stations to Rumia. From Gdynia Główna to Gdynia Chylonia platform 1 is used only by local stopping services.
- Line 202 is used by IC services and also local services that only call at Gdynia Chylonia and have no other intermediate stops between Gdynia Główna and Rumia.
Gdynia Główna approaches alternative: line 963
[452] (ERA-E 75A5, not shown; ERA-R 172B4 not shown; R2) PL25/36
There is a 1km single track line 963 to/from the higher numbered platforms at Gdynia Główna with pointwork allowing it to be used by both arrivals and departures to/from Rumia and identified by a < at only Gdynia Stocznia-Uniwersytet Morski. This routing avoids the flyover line 250 via Gdynia Stocznia-Uniwersytet Morski platforms or the parallel lines 202 and 960 which go underneath line 250.
The previous PDF indicated use was on 9/10 September 2023, again in both directions. Additionally a report was received of TLK 402 19:00 Hel to Bohumin on 11 July 2023 [previous stop Puck 20:00 and via the west side of Gdynia Cisowa Depot and the main line south of Gdynia Chylonia] taking line 963 en route to P5 at Gdynia Główna so any additional reports of use of line 963 by fast services would be welcomed by the Compilers.
The December 2024 PDFs indicate use by SKMT northbound departures from Gdynia Główna at 08:54, 15:07, 15:28, 16:08 & 17:07 or southbound from Gdynia Grabówek at 06:34, 07:35, 15:54 and 16:36 ALL ONLY in the period 16-20 December 2024 and 23 December 2024.
Diagrams of the relevant parts of the route are available here:

Gdynia Stocznia-Universytet Morski
[450/451 & 452] (ERA172B4 not shown, R2) PL25/37
The SKM local and main lines take separate routes with Gdynia Stocznia-Uniwersytet Morski station on an elevated section flying over freight lines leading into the docks. Services in either direction calling at Gdynia Stocznia-Uniwersytet Morski must use Gdynia Główna Peron 1.
Gliwice
Gliwice - Gliwice Łabędy
[165/220] (ERA188A2 not shown, R16) PL25/37A
As at March 2025, the south side pair of passenger lines between Gliwice and Gliwice Łabędy are closed for major construction work, so all services are using the parallel north side freight pair line 168. Of note is the westbound track towards Gliwice Łabędy has a sizeable deviation around the junction of the line towards Gliwice Port but how long this use applies is not known so reports would be appreciated.
Hajnówka area
Hajnówka station is a double "v".
Click on the thumbnail for a full size map.

Hajnówka
[541/543] (ERA179B4, D13) PL25/38
Most trains are through to/from the Lewki [- Białystok] line and use relocated platform IV on the west side [south of the previous demolished station building] and if to/from Czeremcha use a 370 metre south end connection. Others terminating or starting from Hajnówka to/from Czeremcha use platforms I & II on the east side and a separate 250 metre section.
There is also a new west side platform III at a distinct angle to platform IV used by a few arrivals/departures from/to Lewki so check the Peron sheets for ongoing platform use.
Herby Stare area
Herby Stare – Boronów (p.odg Kalina)
[175/180] (ERA-E 78B4; ERA-R 182A3; F7) PL25/39
This 2.2km east <=> south curve, [line 687] regained a local service in 2016. Use by an IC train pair ended 12 March 2022.

Herby Stare – Herby Nowe
[175/180/315/322] (ERA-E 78B4; ERA-R 182A3; F7) PL25/40
Use by TLK37101 and TLK 73100 ended 8 March 2025. No service in the remainder of the 2024-2025 timetable. The re-routing of this train pair also removes the only services between Wieluń Dąbrowa and Kępno.
Lisów – Herby Stare
[175] (ERA-E 78B4, not shown; ERA-R 182A3; F7) PL25/41
The east and westbound tracks take significantly different routes through a forest between these points.
Iława
Iława alternative routes
[400/405/500] (ERA-E 75B3, not shown; ERA-R 172B1; B8) PL25/42
There are two routes between Iława station and Działdowo, the Malbork – Warszawa main line diving under the Toruń – Olsztyn line from the north side, plus Line 968, an inside curve to/from south side Peron III which also accesses a freight yard.
It is believed the track layout does not allow trains to/from Działdowo Peron III to reach the diveunder line so as trains from Iława Peron I & II can reach Line 968, only those using Peron III are guaranteed to use line 968.
However map view only shows trains to/from the south from platform 3 as running mainline, so either new pointwork exists to allow this, or map view is wrong. Feedback on specific services using line 968 would be appreciated by the Compilers.
The usual route for through Malbork - Iława - Działdowo services is the diveunder to avoid conflicts so query the platform arrival/departure sheets for details of Peron III arrivals and departures from Działdowo.
Additionally all Olsztyn - Iława - Malbork services use connections at the Olsztyn end of the station to cross to the north side platforms. Click on the thumbnail for a full size map.

Jarocin
Jarocin north end connection and south end alternative routes
[321] (ERA-E 74C1, not shown; ERA-R 176B2, not shown; E5) PL25/43
Jarocin is a split station with a sizeable yard south of the platforms.

Option [A] a north end 400 metre connection (line 983) allows trains to/from Września to/from the west side platforms 1-2. Previously scheduled for the June - September 2023 timetable period, several trains used the connection in 2024, and there are four in the current timetable. Note that map view only shows through services as using the connection - starting/terminating services appear to use platform 3.

[443] (ERA-E 75A4; ERA-R 172A3; A6) PL25/44
A new western loop line allowing future through Tri-City - Koscierzyna services to approach Kartuzy from the north to access the yet to be re-opened line to Sominino without reversing opened on 11 March 2024. In the meantime reports confirm the new loop line is used only by all inbound towards Kartuzy service from Dzierżążno as they are allowed up to 9 minutes, towards the Tri-city return direct to Dzierżążno taking 5 minutes.
Kalwaria Zebrzydowska Lanckorona
Kalwaria Zebrzydowska Lanckorona south to west
[139] (ERA-E 78B2; ERA-R 182C1; H8) PL25/45
Increased use in 2024/25. It reduced significantly on opening of the new north to west avoiding curve on 11 June 2023, leaving just an overnight pair in ski and summer seasons. In 2024/25 there is a second seasonal and daytime pair of IC's, plus a limited dates pair of KS trains. All can be identified by timings in table 139 at Kalwaria Zebrzydowska Lanckorona.

Katowice area
Diversions not used since 2021/22 have been deleted. The long promised major engineering works in the Katowice area including four tracking to Katowice Ligota commenced from 1 September 2024. With map view unavailable the initial diversionary route listings were from travellers reports, but for the 2024/25 timetable map view is available again.
The PKP website has a link to updates on individual engineering work blockades and one is "Przebudowa Katowickiego Węzła Kolejowego". An article in that section advises a railway viaduct over Załęska "Street" is being rebuilt so from its location the Katowice Ligota by-pass section of line 171 is closed from 4 November 2024 until August 2025. This reduces the possible avoiding Katowice station routes but unfortunately the December 2024 PDFs contradict that information. That article states "After the completion of the works, from September 2025, the line will also be used as an additional detour for trains in connection with the reconstruction of the Katowice railway junction" but this was not reflected in the December 2024 All Year versions of the PDFs, see PL 25/xx.

[Ex 140, in 100] (ERA-E 77B2; ERA-R 188A4-B4; R18) PL25/47
This 15.8km route is for services to/from Kraków and Częstochowa or the CMK via Jaworzno Szczakowa. Use is identifiable by IC/TLKs appearing in table 140 with timings or a | to/from Kraków and Jaworzno Szczakowa then < to and including Katowice, or in T102 with < from Dabrowa Gornicza Zabkowice to and including Katowice. Use has increased in 2024/25 to a maximum of six pairs daily so they are no longer listed.
Note podg Dorota – Dąbrowa Górnicza Ząbkowice is also used by entries in PL25/46 & PL25/48.
(Katowice – Mysłówice –) Sosnowiec Jęzor – via Option [A] or [B] - podg Dorota [– part line 133 – Dąbrowa Gornicza Ząbkowice]
[101/140] (ERA-E 77B2; ERA-R 182B1-C1; R18) PL25/48
Two routes are available but with no calls between Mysłówice and Dąbrowa Gornicza Ząbkowice which one is scheduled cannot be identified from the PDFs. The route of this entry is as shown in the journey planner map view but confirmation reports would be appreciated by the Compilers.
The options are:-
- [A] from Mysłówice via Sosnowiec Jęzor and Line 180 to podg Dorota. Note the flyover south of podg Dorota to line 180 shown in the 2011 Mały Atlas no longer exists so southbound services may be more likely.
- [B] from Mysłówice via Sosnowiec Jęzor to podg Długoszyn (west of Jaworzno Szczakowa), curve 667 and Sosnowiec Maczki to podg Dorota
Note podg Dorota – Dąbrowa Górnicza Ząbkowice is also used by entries in PL25/46 & PL25/47.

Dąbrowa Gornicza Ząbkowice - Line 160 southbound or 186 both directions - Łazy – goods lines to Zawiercie
[101/102] (ERA-E 77B2-C2; ERA-R 188A5-B5; too detailed to be shown, G7 R18) PL25/49
There are alternative routes, two of which can be identified by < markers between Łazy and Dąbrowa Górnicza Sikorka.
- [A] Southbound via flyover route 160 to the southern end of 186 identified by < markers from Wiesiółka to Dąbrowa Górnicza Sikorka. No scheduled use identified in 2024/25 PDFs, last known between 13 June to 28 August and 7 November - 11 December 2021.
- [B] Line 186 in both directions that splits to the east of, and out of sight of the main line between Chruszczobród and Wiesiółka. In Autumn 2020 travellers noticed new platforms on line 186 at Chruszczobród [Peron II] and Wiesiółka [Peron III] so use can now be identified by services calling at both of those Perons.
- [C] via goods lines for 6km north from Łazy on the east side of the first, then in-between parts of two subsequent freight yards to south of Zawiercie
When [B] was in use northbound during 2016 plus on 11 August 2017, mainline services continued via Option [C] to Zawiercie. However as there are no stations between Łazy and Zawiercie it is impossible for the timetable to show services routed only or additionally via option [C] and map view must be used.
Zawiercie avoider: (south to west curve line 705)
[102/179] (ERA-E 77B2-C2; ERA-R 188A5-B5; G7 R21) PL25/50
Use was indicated by a pair of IC's shown in the 2023/24 all year timetable calling at Pryzowice Lotnisko but they never ran, and nothing is shown in the 2024/25 PDFs. The regular Katowice Airport passenger service is to/from Częstochowa via the north to west curve and Zawiercie station, but the long term plan once substantial engineering work completes in the Katowice area is for a local service to also run using this curve, but not even an estimated start year is known.
Sosnowiec Głowny - curve 62 – Sosnowiec Południowy
[105] (ERA-E 77B2; ERA-R 188A4-B4; R17) PL25/51
In use until 14 June 2025 due to long term engineering work in the Katowice area by all local 105 services diverted to terminate/start from Sosnowiec Głowny. Current use commenced from 1 September 2024 following previous use between 15 - 19 December 2022.
Katowice – flyover departure line – p.odg. Brynów (- Katowice Brynów)
[146, 151] (ERA-E 77B2; ERA-R 188B3; R17) PL25/52
Southbound departures from Katowice platforms 1-4 towards Katowice Ligota can run either via the main line (line 139) or via the 2km line 656 via a flyover over the main line to Gliwice and on the north side of an EMU Depot. From observation, all trains departing from Peron 1 at Katowice appear to use this route, with map view previously showing all departures from Peron 1 or 2 taking the flyover. Note this route would not apply to any entries listed in PL25/53.

To/from Katowice Ligota and Mysłowice these services use another unusual lines entry so westbound timings are shown with the last calling point before also using PL25/55.

Use continues in 2024/25 as confirmed in map view. Note there are alternative routes about 150m apart between Katowice Muchowiec and podg Katowice Janów west of the main line junction west of Mysłowice with mid 2024 map view showing the differences. From reports received both routes have been used but not necessarily as right hand running, so via part 171 on the south side or part 657 on the north appear reversible with the route taken at signallers discretion. Further reports would be appreciated by the Compilers.
As these services use another lengthy unusual lines entry to/from T220 at Gliwice, the eastbound timings are those before travelling PL25/54.

Katowice Ligota northern by-pass line part 171
[155,156] (ERA-E 77A1-A2; ERA-R 188B2-B3; G6, R16/17) PL25/56
This entry highlights the unique use of the Katowice Ligota northern freight by-pass line as it is allegedly scheduled in Summer 2025 by a pair running between Gliwice via Zabrze Makoszowy – line 141 - Ruda Kochłowice - podg Radoszowy as per a significant part of PL25/54- the by-pass then part of PL25/54 and PL25/55 from Katowice Muchowiec - line 657 or 171 - podg Katowice Janów - line 655 to/from Mysłowice. The last confirmed use of the northern by-pass was on 1/2 September 2024 by an overnight booked non-stop from Rybnik to Jaworzno Szczakowa.
Click on the thumbnail for a full size map.

It should be noted that a 2024 Press Notice advised the by-pass would be closed from 4 November 2024 until August 2025 for rebuilding of a road bridge, so it is yet to be confirmed if this diversion will actually occur although shown as doing so in map view. See PL25/55 for an explanation of the 657 or 171 alternative.

Use continues in 2024/25 as the now available again Journey Planner map view confirms the above routing, as did an eastbound traveller on 12 January 2025. These services disappear/reappear from Table 220 at Kedzierzyn Kozle and 140 at Myslowice but calls at Rybnik are confirmed in the Journey Planner. This pair commenced running this route on 10 November 2024. Note these duplicate Katowice Muchowiec to/from Mysłowice as per PL25/54 and PL25/55.
Re the alternatives between Katowice Muchowiec and podg Katowice Janów, they are out of sight of each other and up to 150m apart and travellers advised the eastbound on the night of 23/24 November 2024 and 12 January 2025 took the northern option line 657, the westbound took southern option 171 on 2/3 December 2024. These show neither followed right hand running convention so this section is assumed to be reversibly worked with the route taken at signallers discretion so additional reports of travel would be appreciated by the Compliers.

Bytom avoiding line
[165/180] (ERA-E 77B2; ERA-R 188A3; R19) PL25/58
No scheduled use in 2024/25. A pair of 2024 IC's were located via map view as booked via this curve but never ran. Last scheduled on certain dates in 2020 by the Russian Railways Nice Ville <=> Moskva Belorusskaia train pair when diverted from its usual route.
Tychy – line 169 – Orzesze Jaśkowice
[151/155] (ERA-E 77A1-B1; ERA-R 188B2-B3; G7) PL25/59
This line resumed use by non-stop, mainly international services in 2017. Use can be identified in 155 by < markers from Mikolów Jamna to Orzesze Jaśkowice.
Kędzierzyn-Koźle
Kędzierzyn-Koźle – p.odg. Stare Koźle – Kędzierzyn-Koźle Azoty
[160] (ERA-E 78A3, not shown; ERA-R 181C2 too detailed to be shown; R14) PL25/60
Click on the thumbnail for a full size map.

There are three routes between Kędzierzyn-Koźle and podg. Stare Koźle. From east to west they are:
1. Line 709. This is the usually used passenger route in both directions, including by all through Raciborz/Rybnik - Opole services, a 4 km single track over the avoiding curve line 681 via a staff halt at the PKP depot to/from Peron (platform) 1. See 2. & 3. for exceptions.
2. Line 151 (northbound). The 2025/25 timetable reverts to just the one train booked via the northbound split of line 151 [not shown in the 2011, but is in the 2022 Mały Atlas and shown clearly in OpenRailwayMap] to Kędzierzyn-Koźle Peron 4 where they reverse towards Gliwice. This route initially heads east at podg. Stare Koźle, then underneath Lines 709 and 681 to run parallel to, but up to 30m apart from the southbound track of Line 151 as per point 3 below. Both tracks of 151 remain on the west side of the substantial yard and lead to/from only Kędzierzyn-Koźle Peron IV or the station avoiding lines.
IC 4524 | Racibórz - 04:53 Kuźnia Raciborska - Kędzierzyn-Koźle [reverse] - Gliwice - Olsztyn |
3. Line 151 (southbound). This runs on the west side of the yard (Kędzierzyn-Koźle KKD) up to 0.5 km away from Line 709. The southern junction at podg. Stare Koźle is grade separated as per point 2 and note any service from Kędzierzyn-Koźle Peron 4 towards Rybnik or Racibórz must use this route.
Check the Kędzierzyn-Koźle Platform sheets for the latest information on all three variants.
Kędzierzyn-Koźle avoiding curve
[160/220] (ERA-E 78A3; ERA-R 181C2; R14) PL25/61
Use continues in 2024 but is reduced to one pair of international services which can be identified in T160 by a timing at Katowice plus <'s at Rybnik and Kędzierzyn-Koźle. Note this curve is significantly grade separated at the south end.

Kępno
(Domanin -) p.odg. Hanulin – line 812 - Kępno (low level) (– Wieluń)
[320/322] (ERA-E 78A5; ERA-R 181C5; F6) PL25/62
Kępno is a two-level station as the Poznań - Ostrów - Kluczbork line has high level platforms at right angles to those of the low-level Herby Nowe line. There are inside and outside north-to-east curves some km's apart connecting the two lines with all services starting or terminating at Kępno to/from Ostrów Wielkopolski using the 1.8km outside curve (Line 812) to/from the low-level platforms. These can be identified either in the station platform arrival/departure sheets using Peron II, or from the table 320 PDF showing Kępno separately in italics at the top or bottom of the table depending on direction. An inside curve to/from 322 bypasses all platforms and would be a separate entry when scheduled.

Kielce area
Kielce avoiding line: Kielce Piaski (podg Piaski k. Kielc) – Kielce Herbskie (line 567)
[109/110] (ERA-E 78C4; ERA-R 183A4; F9) PL25/63
No scheduled service in 2024/25. Previous use was by diversions between 10 July - 10 August 2017 as the pair of November 2024 Pilgrimage specials included in the December 2023 all year PDF did not run.
Kołobrzeg
Kołobrzeg Port
[off 375] (ERA-E 74B4, not shown; ERA-R 170C3; B2) PL25/64
A 1km freight-only branch partly through city streets to terminate on the quayside adjacent to the lighthouse. The annual Turkol operated Poznań Główny - Kołobrzeg "Pirat" excursion has run for many years except covid, and in 2025 is two specials on 31 May [Pirat"] and 1 June ["Kamrat"]. The 3 June 2023 "Pirat" definitely reached the lighthouse and the Port is shown as the destination in the provisional 2025 timings. See the Turkol website.
Kraków area
Kraków northern loop line: (Kraków Główny –) Kraków Batowice – podg Dłubnia – Kraków Nowa Huta – Podłęże
[120] (ERA-E 78B2-B3; ERA-R 171B5; R15) PL25/65
Even though a local service calling at Kraków Nowa Huta [new station on site of old PKP one, not the further east staff halts] resumed on 15 March 2020 plus limited IC diversions continue in 2024/25, an entry is still required as there are alternative routes east of Nowa Huta and near Podłęże. Services can be identified by calls or a | at Kraków Nowa Huta plus "<" markers between Kraków Grzegórski and Węgrzce Wielkie.
Since regular use commenced, the usual route in both directions at Nowa Huta had been the much longer single-track north side line outside the elevated freight only balloon loop, but after upgrading work it would appear eastbound services may now take a much shorter inside curve from Nowa Huta to podg Koscielniki. Map view still shows the longer route taken, but reports received for 21 July and 1 August 2023 for train TLK30104 advised the shorter curve was used, plus the flyover option of the lengthy grade separated junction approaching Podłęże. So east from Nowa Huta to/from Podłęże may now be treated as a two track railway.
Both alternatives are line 95 variants and shown more clearly on Open Railway Map than the Mały Atlas Kraków insert so further reports of eastbound journeys would be appreciated by the Compilers to confirm if this change is permanent.
Kraków Bronowice
[140/142] (ERA-E 78C3 not shown; ERA-R 182C1 not shown; G8) PL25/66
When the new station was built at Kraków Bronowice as part of the western approach improvement works for Kraków Główny, it has platforms [Peron I and II] on the existing main line (table 140) and [Peron III and IV] on the previous high level goods line. Click on the thumbnail for a full size map.

Platforms III and IV are now used by Kraków Airport services (table 142) and new connections were built to/from Kraków Łobzów: (i) a new westbound track rising to link with the eastbound track of the western freight avoider (line 95) before it crosses over the main line; (ii) eastbound dropping down to run parallel with the main line all the way to Kraków Główny. This is known as line 118 in both directions and it should be noted that services have been known to use Peron III or IV in the opposite direction to that expected, so all journeys should be checked.
Note line 118 west from Kraków Bronowice is at a higher level than the main line as far as a connecting junction east of Kraków Mydlniki.
(Kraków Batowice –) podg Kraków Przedmieśie – Line 602 – Kraków Olsza – Line 100 – Kraków Plaszów
[107, Lines 100/602] (ERA-E 78C3; ERA-R 171A5, not shown; R15) PL25/67
Only two trains on one night in 2024/25. The previous scheduled was by one southbound service to Krakow Plaszow on the night of 10 November 2024. This curve allows trains from the Kozłów line (table 107) to avoid Kraków Główny and proceed directly to Kraków Płaszów. Enter 107 in the Search by Table section and look for trains with a < at Kraków Główny and a time at Kraków Plaszów although unhelpfully the short notice November 2024 service was only shown in the table 100 PDF.
Note A | 143/1300 | Mockava - 23:28 Miechow - Kraków Plaszów
Note A | 5321 | Gdynia Główna - 00:09 Miechow - Kraków Plaszów |
Note A: Train leaves originating station 10 March 2025 and arrives Kraków Plaszów 11 March 2025. Also note 5321 is not shown this route on the pdfs, but is on map view.
Łagów
Toporów - Łagów
[331] (ERA-E 74B13; ERA-R 175B3; D2) PL25/68
In 2023 PolRegio ran a pair of SSuO summer services from Zielona Góra/Zbąszynek to Łagów on 29 April, 1/3 May, 8/10/11 June and SSuO from 24 June - 3 September 2023 and timings were in the Journey Planner. These also ran in 2020 and 2021 but 2022's were shown as a bus. New table 331 gave details of the two train pairs SSuO 22 June to 1 September 2024 [plus 15-16 August] but travellers reported the afternoon pair were bus substituted due to a conflict with a freight despite being shown on the Toporów Peron sheet and the journey planner as a train.
Table 331 is not in the 2024-25 timetable, so the status of this service is unknown.
Legnica
Legnica - Legnica Piekary [- Jawor]
[235] (ERA-E 77B; ERA-R 180C5 Not shown); R12) PL25/69
From 12 June 2022 all passenger trains to/from Jawor were using the normally freight only curve 749 on the south side of the EMU Depot to/from Peron I, services normally use line 137 on the north side to/from Peron IV or V.
From the 9 March 2025 Peron sheets the majority are from Peron V, with limited use of Peron I , listed as follows: Departure time from Jawor 08:24, 10:18 and 18:37. From Legnica 15:02. Map view cannot confirm use of line 749.
Łódź and the area to the east including Koluszki
Łódź Kaliska avoiding line 539
[200a/601 B110] (ERA-E 78B5; ERA-R 177B2-B3, R11) PL25/70
After a period of no use from 14 June until 24 August 2020, most IC trains between Warszawa and Ostrow Wielkopolski plus some local ŁKA services now use this curve.
Łódź Chojny - Łódź Olechow Wschód - curve 541 - Łódź Andrzejów [- Łódź Widzew]
[602a] (ERA-E 78B5; ERA-R 177B2; R11) PL25/71
The December 2019 timetable change introduced a "circle" service from Łódź Widzew to Łódź Kaliska via three new stations on the southern ring line between Łódź Olechow Wschód and Łódź Chojny with details in a new timetable 602a. Curve 541 was previously used only by staff trains, latterly unadvertised, and note this reopening meant reinstatement of the flyover to/from Łódź Olechów Wschód and Łódź Andrzejów.
Any use of the remaining section of the southern ring section from Łódź Olechow Wschód to Bedoń will be shown separately in PL25/72.
(Łódź Chojny –) Łódź Olechów Wschód - line 25 - Bedoń (- Koluszki)
[601/602a/200] (ERA-E 78B5; ERA-R 177B1; R11) PL25/72
No scheduled use in 2024/25 of services running direct via part of the southern ring line between Łódź Olechów Wschód and Bedoń, as would be identified in T601 by no call at Łódź Widzew and < markers from Justynów to Łódź Dąbrowa. Last used during two periods in October 2024 by a few direct services, plus unusually by some Łódź Widzew <=> Łódź Olechów Wschód (reverse) <=> Bedoń <=> Koluszki trains.
This is the rarer option between Łódź Chojny and Bedoń: the usual albeit longer journey is via Łódź Widzew and note any services running direct would also use parallel tracks to the normal Koluszki - Łódź main line pair to/from the east of Bedon which is a "V" station.
(Bedon -) Żakowice (p.odg. Pękowice) - (p.odg Bęzelin) - Chrusty Nowe (- Piotrków Trybunalski)
[102, 601] (ERA-E 78B5-C5; ERA-R 177C1; F9) PL25/73
Trains between Łódź and Piotrków Trybunalski/Częstochowa that do not call at Koluszki use this west to south curve.
(Łódź –) Gałkówek – Żakowice Połudnowie - Wykno/Słotwiny (– Tomaszów Mazowiecki)
[114,114a,601] (ERA-E 78B5-C5; ERA-R 177C1; E8, R11) PL25/74
There are two possible routes between Łódź and Tomaszów Mazowiecki avoiding Koluszki.
[A] Line 25, a double track line direct from Żakowice Połudnowie via the closed station and junction at Mikołajów to Wykno used by daily express services in Table 114 PDF to/from Łódź and Tomaszów Mazowiecki with a '<' at Koluszki and Słotwiny or
[B] Line 537, a single track line from Żakowice Połudnowie via podg Zielen to Słotwiny.
Option [B] could previously be identified from table 114a but this is no longer possible after Żakowice Połudnowie was omitted. Query the journey planner for services to/from Łódź calling at Słotwiny with a journey time of less than 37 minutes and not calling at Koluszki, but it is believed there have been none scheduled since December 2023.
Click on the thumbnail for a full size map.

Note that Gałkówek via Żakowice Połudnowie to podg Zielen is common with part of PL25/75 and Interrail and PR Regional tickets are not valid on services run by local operator ŁKA.
(Gałkówek –) Żakowice Południowe – p.odg. Zieleń – line 535 - Koluszki
[102a,601,114] (ERA-E 78B5-C5; ERA-R 177C1; R11) PL25/75
Train use falls into three distinct groups :-
[A] Any Łódź area to Skierniewice and Warszawa or v.v. services in 601 calling at Żakowice Południowe and Koluszki. Such use is indicated by either a timetable footnote, sometimes with a * or a < marker against Żakowice. Only four trains in the 2024-25 timetable
[B] from the Łódź area to/from Tomaszów Mazowiecki that pass through or call at Żakowice Południowe and reverse in platform 3 at Koluszki. These can be identified in table 114a by a < at Żakowice
[C] some Łódź <=> Koluszki <=> Piotrków Trybunalski services in table 102a with a < symbol at Żakowice plus a footnote indicating they stop at Żakowice Południowe.

Lublin
Lublin west to south avoider: curve 588
[550/555] (ERA-E 79B4; ERA-R 184A5; F12, R4) PL25/76
No known use in 2024. In 2023, the SKPL timetable and PKP map view confirmed diversions via this recently built 0.986km avoiding curve, Stalowa Wola Rozwadow and Zwierzyniec [reverse] of the eastbound service towards the Ukraine with calls at Lublin Zachodni between the 7-9 November 2023. PKP JP map view in fact showed both directions diverted, even though the SKPL website timings showed the westbound service still calling at Lublin Główny. This may have been the first ever scheduled passenger use and note this train was non-stop to/from Lublin and the Ukraine with tickets are only available on the UZD website.
Lubliniec area
Lubliniec avoiding line: podg. Jawonica – podg. Droniowiczki
[165/175] (ERA-E 78A3-B4; ERA-R 182A3; G6) PL25/77
This north <=> south connection links the Częstochowa Stradom line (table 175) with the Katowice western freight avoider (table 165). Prior to this pair running via this route in 2024 this was only used by diversions, [last between 10 - 23 July 2017], plus from some time in 2020 by the RZD operated Nice - Moskva services until suspended initially for the covid pandemic.
The 2025 pair are again not listed in table 165 but are in 175 and 220 with appropriate < markers.

Lubliniec station – Paczyna
[165] (ERA-E 78A3-A4; ERA-R 182A3; G6) PL25/78
This 36.5 km section of an otherwise freight only line is used by the limited services listed in table 165 which from at least August 2021 include daytime services. Despite their previous direct route through Bytom re-opening on 15 December 2024, the limited Katowice - Poznan IC's remain running this way and do not appear in the 165 PDF.
There is a substantial south to west grade separated junction at Lubliniec.
Międzyrzecz
Międzyrzecz - Wierzbno
[335] (ERA-E 74B1-B2; ERA-R 175C3; D2-D3) PL25/79
This freight line starting from Międzyrzecz on the Zbąszynek to Gorzów Wielkopolski railway, has a limited summer weekend only service.
Nowy Dwor Gdanski (Żuławskiej Kolei Dojazdowej narrow gauge railway)
[457] (ERA-E 75B4, not shown; ERA-R 172B3; A7) PL25/80
This system worked by the Pomorskie Towarzystwo Miłośników Kolei Żelaznych (PTMKŻ) with three unusual sections of track is a Spring to Autumn only preserved ex PKP narrow gauge line from Nowy Dwor Gdanski to Sztutowo and Prawy Brzeg Wisły. Details are on their latest timetable that confirms the Nowy Dwór Gdański - Stegna Gdanska service resumed from 6 July 2024 with 1 pair until 1 September SSuO after being suspended due to renovation of the Rybina swing bridge.
Stegna Gdanska
This is a triangular station with platforms on all three sides with the south to east curve to/from Sztutowo in use sporadically, last timetabled by one pair on 30 April, 1-3 May 2022 or 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, 26 September 2021, before then only in 2017 and 2013 as the service from Nowy Dwór Gdański ran via the south to west curve to Prawy Brzeg Wisły. The timetable for after the 6 July 2024 re-opening is unclear on what curve is covered by the train to/from Nowy Dwór Gdański as it is shown only as a connecting train.
Sztutowo
If travelling to/from Sztutowo on either a loco hauled train or a railcar towing trailers it will reverse around a triangle on arrival or departure at Sztutowo as there is no run round loop.
Nowy Dwor Gdanski - Cementarz-Komunalny
Hourly shuttles run for "All Saints" on the last weekend in October which are the only services running south from Nowy Dwor Gdanski [1.4km]. They ran on October 31 and November 1 and 2 2024 as well as in 2021, 2022 and 2023. See their website.
Oleśnica
Dąbrowa Oleśnicka – Oleśnica Rataje – Oleśnica
[200, 321] (ERA-E 77C4; ERA-R 181B5; F5) PL25/81
Most trains between Ostrów Wielkopolski and Wrocław Główny take the direct route via the north to west curve (Dąbrowa Oleśnicka – Oleśnica Rataje – Borowa Oleśnica (p.odg. Łukanów)) avoiding Oleśnica. However some take this north-to-east curve into Oleśnica station and reverse. Either a timing or < against Oleśnica indicates which route is taken. Note this curve and the north to west curve consist of separate single lines between Dąbrowa Oleśnicka and Oleśnica Rataje.
Opole
Opole by-pass: Opole Wschodnie - line 277 - Opole Groszowice

Note A | IC 38172 | Przemyśl Główny - 00:35 Kędzierzyn Koźle - Świnoujście |
Note A: Mornings of 19 - 22 March 2025
A limited overnight passenger diversion commenced for all of 2021/22 and continued until 9 June 2024, then 13 - 18 November 2024, the first use since engineering work diversion of the 215 local services many years ago. Note one of the two pairs did not appear in the 215 PDF as it has no calls, but could be identified by "<" markers at stations between Opole Główne and Święta Katarzyna in table 220 and from its route in the journey planner map view.
Opole Głowne connecting line
[175/201/215] (ERA-E 78A4; ERA-R 181C3 too detailed to be shown; R14) PL25/83
None scheduled in 2024/25. Opole Głowne is a "v" station with the junction at the west end, and an east end bay platform with a 300m connection across from the south to the north side tracks. This previously led only to a reversing siding adjacent to Bay Peron 1 Track 3 but had a platform built serving it to become Peron 1a track 5. Following use of this link by a Branch Line Society June 2022 Tour it took until 11 June 2023 for any Peron sheet timetabled use which continues, but as all are to/from Kędzierzyn-Koźle or Strzelce Opolskie they would not use this connecting line.
Ostrów Wielkopolski
Ostrów Wielkopolski avoiding curve: Czekanów (podg Stary Staw) – Biniew (podg Franklinów)
[200, 320] (ERA-E 78A5; ERA-R 176C1; E5) PL25/84
Use continues in 2024/25. Some Łódź - Poznań services were supposedly temporarily diverted via Kalisz and this curve when their usual route via Kutno was closed for long term engineering work, but they and local services introduced later are still operating. Note the KW services do not appear in table 200 PDFs.

Use had not been 100% guaranteed scheduled since the Peron sheets showed the Kostryzn - Gdynia TLK diverted via Piła Peron 5 or 6 and Szczecinek for a few days in June and September 2020, but this entry was retained as pointwork allows any train to/from the Szczecinek or Walcz lines via line 999 to access Peron 1 to 4 to avoid a conflict on the single-track section to/from podg Piła Północ.
Click on thumbnail for a map showing the line:-

Anyone wishing to search for this conflict avoiding possibility should use the map view facility after a search in the Journey Planner by clicking on Connection Details to select “Route on the map (train traffic simulation)”.
Please notify the Compilers of any non-Peron 5 or 6 services routed via line 999.
Poznań area
Routes via Poznań Franowo area
Franowo is a large marshalling yard and depot on the south freight ring around Poznań and the lines through the yard area provide an alternative to passing through Poznań Główny station. Use is normally:-
- Trains to/from the north [almost exclusively to/from Szczecin] to avoid a reversal at Poznań Główny traverse through Poznań Franowo to/from the Warszawa and Inowrocław lines.
- when the lines from Poznań Główny to Swarzędz or Kobylnica are closed due to engineering work.
- By Turkol excursions from Poznań Główny. Different options exist, but the most usual are ‘short’ circulars via Franowo and Poznań Wschód or ‘long’ circulars via Franowo and the northern freight ring to Kiekrz where they reverse.

Within the Franowo area any Turkol anti-clockwise ‘long’ circuit services can take different routes, either Line 352 on the north side of the yard, or lines 823/824, a south side route from podg Pokrzywno and a flyover to podg Stary Młyn. Line 352 on the north side runs via platforms used by staff trains prior to their withdrawal in approximately December 2006 and all westbound or clockwise Turkol charters must take this route.
Poznań Starolęka - podg Pokrzywno - Poznań Franowo - Swarzędz
[300a] (ERA-E 74C1; ERA-R 180C1; R10&D4) PL25/86
There are up to five daytime pairs booked via Franowo from 15 December 2024 as they show < markers from Poznań Antoninek to Poznań Garbary.
Local contacts advise they should run via line 352 on the north side of Franowo Yards in both directions, but there have been odd reports of eastbounds running to the south of all yards from podg Pokrzywno via line 806 as was regular in previous years. Any reports of travel on eastbound services would be appreciated by the Compilers.
Przemyśl area
(Przemyśl Główny –) Hurko – Medyka (– Mostys'ka 2)
[122] (ERA-E 79B2; ERA-R 184B1; H12, R35) PL25/87
There are three routes between these points; from south to north they are:
- Line 91, a cross border 1435 mm gauge line which ends east of Mostys'ka 1 in Ukraine.
This is used between Przemyśl Główny and Medyka by the PKP local service shown in Table 121. Note in the 2023/24 PDFs that this service was not advertised to the last stop at Medyka, assumed related to the stations very close proximity to the Ukrainian rail and road border crossing but confirmed as still running there in the journey planner.
- Line 989, a 1435 mm gauge line through the marshalling yards, re-joining Line 91 at Medyka.
No passenger services use this line. Note that page H12 of the "2011 Atlas Linii Kolejowych Polski" is incorrect in showing passenger stations on 989; they are on Line 91 and the enlarged page R35 and on G13 in the 2022 edition show this correctly.
- Line 92, the 1520 mm gauge line into Ukraine.
This route is used by any cross border Ukrainian Railways operated services between L'viv and Przemyśl Główny. These are no longer shown in PKP PDFs and service levels can fluctuate with the refugee situation. As at December 2024 five pairs were shown in the PKP journey Planner.
Up until the 2016/17 TT change it was believed Lines 91 and 92 were used on alternate days by the overnight Wrocław - L'viv/Lvov service, with either a manual gauge change at Przemyśl (with a longer stop) or an SUW2000 gauge change at Mostys'ka 2 (with a relatively short stop at Przemyśl). The gauge changer at Mostys'ka 2 was noted out of use as at October 2017 but an April 2018 traveller confirms his overnight L'viv/Lvov services used Line 91 and the Mostys'ka 2 gauge changer. The Przemyśl Główny Peron sheets usually showed this service using a Standard gauge platform in both directions and the PKP Journey planner route map via Line 91, but note timings did not preclude use of the gauge changer at Przemyśl. This service was suspended for Covid, only resuming from 14 March until being withdrawn on 10 December 2022 so since then only BG passenger trains have crossed the border.
Przeworsk
Przeworsk avoiding line: Przeworsk Gorliczyna – podg Przeworsk Zachodnia
[116, 121] (ERA-E 79B3; ERA-R 184A1; G11), PL25/88
This curve enables trains between Stalowa Wola and Rzeszow to avoid reversing at Przeworsk as indicated by no timing at Przeworsk in timetables 116 and 121. Two pair all year use is shown for 2024/25.
Rejowiec

Rybnik area
Rybnik – Sumina
[153/154/160] (ERA-E 77A1; ERA-R 188B1; G6, H6) PL25/90
There are two routes between Rybnik and Sumina: a direct line with no intermediate stations and a longer single track route via Rybnik Towarowy and Rydułtowy used by local services. Services using the direct line have <'s in 153, but in recent years only those calling at Raciborz are included. To find others look in table 160 for IC's with timings at Kędzierzyn-Koźle and Rybnik to/from Bielsko-Biala.
To note despite all IC's shown in 153 using the direct line having a | at Sumina, those and the others in table 160 normally by-pass the station platforms using tracks on the north side of a small yard.
Nędza Wieś – Kuźnia Raciborska (p.odg. Turze)
[153/160] (ERA-E 77A1; ERA-R 188B1; G6) PL25/91
This east-to-north chord avoiding Nędza station is used by trains running direct between Rybnik and Kędzierzyn Koźle. Use is indicated by < markers at stations from Nędza to Chałupki in Table 160. Note these services do not appear in table 153.
Rzepin
Rzepin avoiding line: Jerzmanice Lubuskie – Drzeńsko (podg. Drzeńsko)
[355] (ERA-E 74A1; ERA-R 175A3; D1) PL25/92
Scheduled again in 2024 after summer use being re-instated in 2023. The previous use was up to 2 September 2018.
The summer only services listed below also the curve from Szczecin Podjuchy to Szczecin Dąbie. Note these are Compulsory Reservation services which appear to only be obtainable in person at specific stations.

Rzepin: Connection from Frankfurt (Oder) to Zielona Góra line
[355, 300, M103] (ERA-E 74A1, not shown; ERA-R 175A3 not shown; D1 not shown) PL25/93
Rzepin is a two sided station with Frankfurt (Oder) to Poznań services using the north, and Szczecin to Zielona Góra services south side platforms with connections at each end.
At the west end is a 0.5km line through freight yards used by services between Frankfurt (Oder) and Zielona Góra as shown clearly shown in tables 300 and 355. Allegedly only the IC's have run through since October 17 2024 due to a shortage of DMU's so check the Journey Planner before travelling.
The 170m east end connection had been used since 2018 by a number of TLK's between Poznań and Szczecin but this reduced to a pair of overnights from 2022/23. Odd days excepted they are TLK 18172 departing Świebodzin at times from 03:57 to 04:55, and TLK 81170 departing Rzepin at 01:04 as listed in Table 300.

Rzeszów
Rzeszów Zachodni - Rzeszów Staroniwa (Rzeszów Głowny avoider) - line 611
[121/132] (ERA-E 79A2-B2; ERA-R 183C1; G11) PL25/94
No scheduled use in 2024/25. Identified in 121 by no timings after/before Rzeszów Zachodni or in 132 by no timing at Rzeszów Głowny. Last used by two pairs of Kraków - Zagórz services from 23 September to 8 November 2024.
Sandomierz area
Sandomierz – Sobów – Tarnobrzeg
[116/126] (ERA-E 79A3; ERA-R 183C3; G10) PL25/95
A limited local service was re-introduced in summer 2017. Local services can be identified in table 126 by timings at Wielowieś before and after a call at Sandomierz between Sobów and Grębów, but extra from 15 December 2024 are the two pairs of Warszawa - Sandomierz - Przemyśl Główny services that are diverted via Tarnobrzeg, Kolbuszowa and Rzeszów. Of note is from 15 June the local services are shown bustituted but the IC's are shown in map view diverted from this route via a reversal in the Grębów area.
Note this entry and PL25/96 run parallel for 4km south from Sandomierz.
Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski – Sandomierz – Grębów
[115] (ERA-E 79A3-A4; ERA-R 183B5-C3; F10-G10) PL25/96
From December 2024 Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski – Sandomierz resumes in use by the Skarzysko Kamienna avoider services in PL25/97, the local services do not resume until 9 March 2025.
However as the above two pairs of Warszawa - Przemyśl services are diverted via Tarnobrzeg, Sandomierz – Grębów is now only traversed by the limited PolRegio services that reverse at Sandomierz in PL25/95, that is until they are bustituted from 15 June due to engineering work. Sandomierz – Grębów is then used by the Warszawa - Przemyśl services diverted to reverse at Grębów...

Skierniewice – line 529 – Skierniewice Rawka (podg. Miedniewice)
[601/B170] (ERA-E 75C1; ERA-R 177C2, not shown; E8) PL25/98
Any service to/from Warszawa using the far north side platform [Peron 3 Track 104, opened by October 2019] must run via 2km of previously goods only track on the north side of a substantial yard, plus 1.9km long line 529, a separate alignment outside, and on the north side of the flyover to/from line 604. The same route can be used in both directions thanks to a crossover east of the line 529 junction.
Note Peron 3 Track 104 is regularly used in the opposite direction by terminating services to/from Łowicz or Łodz, so the listed services are the only ones using the rare section and have included through or calling IC's, but more often by terminating KM services from Warszawa. Any booked non-stopping IC services can only be found by a journey planner map view searches and travellers advise use was subject to good timekeeping.
17 Trains used this obscure route in the 2023-24 timetable period to 9 June 2024, but this reduced to just 1 train after this date and one pair until 7 March in 2024/25.

Szczecin area
Szczecin Główny eastern approaches
[361] (ERA-E 74A3; ERA-R 170B4; R1) PL25/104
There are two alternative routes from Szczecin Zdroje (p.odg. Regalica) to Szczecin Główny. The shorter northern route runs via Szczecin Port Centralny station into the northern end of Szczecin Główny, and the longer southern route via p.odg. Dziewoklicz and p.odg. Szczecin Wstowo into the southern end of Szczecin Główny. Services taking the southern route may be identified by a '<' symbol against Szczecin Port Centralny.
Szczecin Podjuchy - Szczecin Zdroje
[366, plus 361/370] (REA-E 74A3; ERA-R 170B4: R1) PL25/105
A replacement higher double track fixed bridge opened on the direct line towards Szczecin Główny on 10 December 2023 which from drone photos in this article appears to be on the same alignment as the replaced single track drawbridge. This resulted in much reduced use of this Szczecin avoiding curve except for two pairs of summer only services. Note the KD pair are not shown in the 366 PDF and are Compulsory Reservation services that appear only obtainable in person at specific stations.

Tczew - Rokitki Tczewskie (podg Malinowo) via line 727
[426] (ERA-E 75B4, not shown; ERA-R 172A2; R2) PL25/108
There are alternative routes to/from the Chojnice line and Tczew station: a double track main line to/from the east side platforms on a lengthy embankment to fly over the Gdansk and yard access lines, or a single track curve at ground level (line 727) on the west side. Any departures from platforms 1 & 2 must use line 727 but pointwork allows all platforms to be reached by arrivals from line 727.

Toruń
Toruń Główny – podg Nieszawka (- Inowrocław)
[405] (ERA-E 75A2; ERA-R 177A4; R3) PL25/110
There are two routes to/from Inowrocław, the main line passes on the north side of Toruń Towarowy yard and goes over the Bydgoszcz line, the alternative on the south side is via Toruń Kluczyki station and line 734 to re-join the main line at podg Nieszawka. From reports, fast services which have a "<" marker against Toruń Kluczyki are booked to take the northerly route but in practice may use either.
Warszawa area - East of a north-south line through Warszawa Centralna
The substantial works in the Warszawa Zachodnia area are planned to end soon, PKP even suggest the new main station building might open by 2024 year end. The recent frequent use of the many diversions previously listed around Warszawa have ceased, some with no scheduled use in 2024/25.

[608, 613, KM2] (ERA-E 76C5,not correctly shown; ERA-R 174B5, not correctly shown; R6, R8) PL25/111
Use continues in 2024/25 of this west <=> east curve east of Warszawa Zoo including a very large grade separated junction for trains to/from Warszawa Wschodnia or Warszawa Rembertow and Warszawa Gdańska. By March 2025 the service had been reduced to eight KM services, with no IC trains using the curve. The curves have seen considerable use since the 2020-2021 timetable period in both directions by trains avoiding Warszawa Centralna and Warszawa Zachodnia but note westbound services have been known to NOT take the longer flyover route. This curve is usually also used by any entries in PL25/112.

(Warszawa Gdańska/Legionowo – p.odg. W-wa Targówek) - p.odg. W-wa Michałów – line 502 - Warszawa Wschodnia Towarowa - Warszawa Rembertow
[608, 610, 613, KM2] (ERA-E 76C5, not correctly shown; ERA-R 174B5, not correctly shown; R6, R8) PL25/112
No services in the 2024-25 timetable of this connecting route taking two sets of separate and different alignments east and westbound for trains to/from the Warszawa Rembertow direction to/from Warszawa Gdańska (using PL25/111) or north towards Legionowo.

Use had been scheduled since 2020/21 in both directions, with 2 - 9 December 2023 seeing much increased use by Lublin bound services as the line via Otwock was partially blocked. Last used by short term diversions in 2024.
Routes between Warszawa and Pilawa
There are three routes between Warszawa and Pilawa, PL25/113 and the alternatives mentioned in PL25/114. As the routes taken by main line services have varied in recent years they are itemised below.
[Warszawa] - podg Stojadja - Minsk Mazowiecki avoider – Line 13 - Pilawa
[550, 613] (ERA-E 76A1; ERA-R 178B2; D10/E10) PL25/113
No services in the 2024-25 timetable. Use had re-commenced from 17 September 2023 as indicated in table 550 by services with times at a Warszawa station and Pilawa plus a < at Otwock although running via this route can also be indicated in 613 by a < at and beyond Minsk Mazowiecki. Historically this was previously the main route for fast trains between Warszawa Wschodnia and Pilawa but has declined since south of Otwock was doubled. Note any services running via Warszawa Gdanska also use PL25/112.
The 2023-24 timetable had a short period in December 2023 with 16 trains using this route, reducing to 8 up to June 2024 and only two train pairs after. These were the Warszawa <=> Kyiv (Ukraine) and Warszawa <=> Rava Ruskaia (Ukraine) train pairs, but from 10 November 2024 these were routed via Otwock.
[Warszawa Wschodnia –] Warszawa Wschodnia Towarowa – p.odg. Warszawa Antoninów – line 506 - Warszawa Gocławek [– Warszawa Wawer]
[614] (ERA-E 76C5; ERA-R 174B5; R6, R8) PL25/114
In the 2024-25 timetable all IC services Warszawa Wschodnia to Pilawa and beyond are routed via this alternative route (line 506) between Warszawa Wschodnia and Warszawa Gocławek as identified by <'s markers between Warszawa Grochów and Warszawa Gocławek. Local services to/from Otwock call at those stations.
Note this route is grade separated at Warszawa Antoninów, with the inbound track remaining separate until Warszawa Wschodnia near approaches. This routing has gone in and out of scheduled use in recent years, most recently suspended when four tracking south from Warszawa Gocławek towards Otwock was in progress. As part of the four tracking there will eventually be two fast tracks on the east side and two local tracks on the west, so the flyover north of Warszawa Gocławek previously used by all northbound services towards Warszawa Olszynka Grochowska has been demolished.
After the June 2024 timetable revision all IC trains and numerous local trains via Otwock took this obscure route. From 10 November 2024 all but one IC service was routed this way, but no local services.

Chotomów – curve 511 - Legionowo Piaski – (Tłuszcz)
[609, 608] (ERA-E 76A1; ERA-R 174B5; D9) PL25/115
Used by a limited DMU service to/from Sierpc and Tłuszcz (where a KM Depot is located) to avoid a reversal at Legionowo. A service commenced in 2017 and to note the curve is separate from the main line until Chotomów so eastbound timings are given for the stop before the junction. These entries are also the only passenger services between Radzymin and Tłuszcz on 609.

Czachówek Południowy – Czachówek Wschodni
[604, 605] (ERA-E 76A1; ERA-R 174B3; E10) PL25/116
No use from 9 March 2025 timetable revision. Previous use were short periods of limited trains in November and mid-summer 2023. This south <=> east curve connects the Radom to Warszawa line with the southern freight ring.
Up to 12 July 2019 limited Warszawa to Góra Kalwaria (and v.v.) services continued to Czachówek Południowy to reverse and used this curve.
Ustanówek (p.odg. Czachówek Płd Czp 11) – Czachówek Wschodni
[604, 605] (ERA-E 76A1; ERA-R 174B3; E10) PL25/117
This north <=> east curve connects the Warszawa to Radom line with the southern freight ring and is used by all direct services to/from Warszawa and Góra Kalwaria except those listed in PL25/116. Table 604 only shows Czachówek Wschodni and Góra Kalwaria stations but all services are through to/from at least Piaseczno via this curve. In the 2024-25 timetable almost all services start/finish at Warszawa Gdańska.
Warszawa area - west of a north-south line through Warszawa Centralna
The substantial works in the Warszawa Zachodnia area are planned to end soon, PKP even suggest the new main station building might open by 2024 year end. The recent frequent use of the many diversions previously listed around Warszawa have ceased, some with no scheduled use in 2024/25.
Warszawa Zachodnia Peron 9 connection to main line/Warszawa Zachodnia to/from Warszawa Aleje Jerozolimskie and Warszawa Włochy
[608] (ERA-E 76C5; ERA-R 174B5; R6) PL25/118
Following substantial recent engineering work around Warszawa Zachodnia there have been alignment changes. By table number plus line numbers taken from the more detailed than the Mały Atlas OpenRailwayMap website they are:-
- 300/601/606 The main line east and west [Line 1] is repositioned slightly south and leaves Zachodnia either side of a new connection off ex Radom line 605 [see below]
- 605/612 To/from Warszawa Zachodnia Peron 9 [both directions] or outbound only from Zachodnia main platforms 6 - 8 of the expanded main station to/from Lotnisko Chopina/Góra Kalwaria/Radom [lines 849/850] is now doubled, and climbs up to a replacement double track bridge over the main and suburban lines where it becomes known as line 8.
- 601/606/608 The continuation of line 850 is a connection onto a section of the old westbound main line on the north side of the replacement line 8 bridge. From its limited recent use it is reversible, but in 2024/25 it has no scheduled services. Since commissioning it has seen limited use on odd dates at the end of service.
- 605/612 Northbound from Lotnisko Chopina/Góra Kalwaria/Radom towards Warszawa Zachodnia has a new alternative route. Immediately after crossing over the replacement double track bridge line 8, there is a connection to the right [actually the eastbound continuation of line 8] that re-crosses the westbound main line then drops as a separate track towards Warszawa Zachodnia in-between the east and westbound main lines
- Local lines 601/606. Possibly minor realigned outbound. Inbound the section of the "5th line" commencing in-between the two local lines to the east of Warszawa Włochy, [shown on OpenRailwayMap as line 3] still exists, but its separate alignment on the near approaches to Zachodnia was eliminated as it now runs alongside inbound lines 1 and 8.
Therefore between Warszawa Włochy and Warszawa Zachodnia the two main, two local and the 5th line all differ in parts, the local lines additionally separating to run either side of an EMU Depot and sidings. The prime function of the 5th line was to allow inbound main line services from Sochaszew on line 606 a non-conflicting approach to the then higher numbered eastbound main line platforms at Warszawa Zachodnia. It is now also used by the limited inbound services from lines 601/606 to the re-opened Warszawa Głowna and such journeys are clearly shown using this 5th line in journey planner map view.
Historically all services to/from Warszawa Gdanska and Warszawa Zachodnia terminated at platforms on a sharp curve some distance away from the main station platforms. This even had a different name, [Warszawa Wola later Zachodnia Peron 8] with no passenger services regularly using the connection beyond to a flat junction with the main line.
Additionally to the east of Warszawa Zachodnia, when Warszawa Głowna reopened on 13 March 2021, it was originally served in both directions by a reinstated flyover, but once new Peron 6 & 7 opened at Zachodnia, departures from Głowna used a reinstated ground level route from 16 January 2022.
Warszawa Zachodnia "avoider": Warszawa Aleje Jerozolimskie - Line 510 - part line 20 - Warszawa-Gołąbki [reverse] [- line 509 - Warszawa Gdanska]
[110, 601, 605] (ERA-E 76C5; ERA-R174B4; R7, R5) PL25/119
Short term use in 2024/25, previous use was for a few days in August 2024. These services run to/from Warszawa Aleje Jerozolimskie via line 510 and line 20 to the end of Warszawa Główna Towarowa freight yard, reverse and use line 509 to/from Warszawa Gdańska.

After several years with extensive use, services are greatly reduced in 2024-25 of this route allowing trains to/from the CMK, Koluszki or destinations such as Łódź, Częstochowa and Wrocław to/from Warszawa Gdańska to avoid Warszawa Zachodnia. See also PL25/122 for extra detail on Warszawa Gołąbki.

Warszawa Zachodnia - Warszawa-Czyste - Line 20 - Warszawa Główna Towarowa - Warszawa Gołąbki
[601, (606)] (ERA-E 76C5; ERA-R 174B5; R7) PL25/121
There are three routes from/to Warszawa Zachodnia and Warszawa-Czyste, an intermediate junction on line 20 to/from Warszawa Zachodnia via Warszawa Główna Towarowa to Warszawa Gołąbki. Line designations OpenRailwayMap have altered after the recent works. They are:
- Option [A] from Warszawa Zachodnia Platforms 6, 7, 8 or 9 using line 42 to reach line 20 at Warszawa-Czyste. This [under its previous designation as line 46] was the most frequently used by diversions, but only ever from Platforms 6 - 8.
- Option [B] from Warszawa Zachodnia Peron 9 using an approximately 40m further north track than line 42. Not known to have been used by passenger services
- Option [C] Any services using line 20 towards Warszawa Centralna/Główna/Śródmieście should run from Warszawa-Czyste via a diveunder [line 46] to lower numbered platforms at Warszawa Zachodnia. This diveunder was out of use for a few years during the reconstruction work but was previously used on rare occasions by diversions. It re-opened some time in 2024 but not knowingly seen passenger use.
Line 20 can be used by two different services:-
- identified in table 601 by one extra < marker in 601, those with a timing at Warszawa Zachodnia plus a < at all stations between Warsawa Włóchy to Piastów [inclusive]. This no longer appears to be the case in 601 as 2024/25 map view shows such services running via the normal main, so a changed use of > but not incorrect, as it now means not using the local lines [the only ones with platforms] as opposed to a diversion. From running times of those making a call before Żyrardów, none appear to be scheduled via line 20. Or
- in theory a < at Warsawa Włóchy & Warszawa Ursus Północny in 606 but any were not correctly shown in the PDF for the past few years. However to confuse matters, train IC52102 departing Sochaszew at 17:06 on Sundays has only a < at Warsawa Włóchy in the 2024/25 PDF but does have a few minutes extra running time so may run via line 20 and 46, but this is not guaranteed as map view shows it running normal route and it is booked to arrive at Warszawa Zachodnia platform 6.
Warszawa Gdańska - Line 507 - Warszawa Gołąbki - Sochaczew
[606,300] (ERA-E 76C5; ERA-R 174B4; R5) PL25/122
No services scheduled in 2024-25. This entry indicates use of the connections at Warszawa Gołąbki to/from the Sochaczew main line and Warszawa Gdańska as shown clearly on Open Railway Map.
The Westbound split of 507 is a 1.5km separate line running outside the 606 main line flyover from east of Warszawa Gołąbki by-passing the platform and not joining the main line until west of the station. Only services from Warszawa Gdańska towards Sochaczew use this as those from Warszawa Zachodnia via PL25/121 can only cross to table 606 to the west of Warszawa Gołąbki station.
The eastbound towards Warszawa Gdanska routing is a crossover west of Warszawa Gołąbki platform onto the eastbound track of line 507 parallel with line 19, then under the main line 606 flyover until 507 and 19 combine to join line 509 as a continuation of PL25/120.
Limited passenger services since work to upgrade Warszawa Zachodnia commenced in 2020/21. Nearly 20 trains used this obscure route in the timetable period ending 31 August 2024.

This is a split station with the junction some way north of the platforms and any service to/from Laskowice Pomorskie via Drzycim [see PL25/125 below] terminating at Wierzchucin stops on the east side Peron I on a curve. Therefore the 1km to/from that platform and the north junction sees much reduced use in comparison to/from the west side Bydgoszcz platforms. The December 2024 Peron sheet again shows Peron 1 to/from the north in limited use and note the physical junction is a diamond slip so trains to/from Peron I and Lipowa Tucholska/Szlachta use slightly different pointwork from any to/from Tuchola.
See the Wierzchucin Peron sheets.

Passenger services on this 26km long line were suspended due to Covid from 18 March 2020 and have not been restored. Since then there have been timetabled odd day, sometimes in one direction only or limited diversionary use. This can be identified in 431 by a series of < markers between Wierzchucin and Maksymilianowo 'plus timings to/from Bydgoszcz, or the 2024/25 service by a timing at Laskowice Pomorskie.
Note any services through to/from north of Wierzchucin would also use PL25/124.

[260] (ERA-E 77C4; ERA-R 180A1; R13) PL25/126
No service in the 2024-25 timetable, though a Berlin Lichtenberg - Wrocław Kulturzug / Pociąg do Kultury was initially shown as running this way but not from the March 2025 timetable revision. Last confirmed use was by several TLK services between January and June 2020 of this alternative route between Wrocław Główny and Legnica, passing through Wrocław Gądów freight yard.

(Wrocław Główny) – Wrocław Muchobór - Line 275 - Wrocław Nowy Dwór
[260] (ERA-E 77C4; ERA-R 180A1; R13) PL25/127
In previous years what appears to be a grade separated junction between Wrocław Muchobór and Wrocław Nowy Dwór to/from Legnica was not used as such as the majority of services in both directions used the south side/inside curve to/from Peron 2; only services running through or calling at Peron 1 used the diveunder. Main line services were known to use either route and despite the on-line Peron sheet for Wrocław Nowy Dwór and Journey Planner showing use of both platforms, a traveller in 2020 advised the departure sheet displayed at the station showed all services using Peron 2.
Note the Journey Planner map view does not distinguish between the two sides of this junction but reports received in June 2022 advised their westbound non-stopping semi-fast, or expresses used the outside curve and a local in May 2023 did likewise so reports would be appreciated by the Compilers.
Wrocław Muchobór - Line 757 - Signalbox WS - podg Wrocław Grabiszyn [- Wrocław Głowny]
[260, 265] (ERA-E 77C4; ERA-R 180A1; R13) PL25/128
No scheduled use in 2024-25. This an alternative route between Wrocław Muchobór and podg Wrocław Grabiszyn via the approach junction to currently closed Wrocław Świebodzki. Any train booked to call at platform II track 4 at Wrocław Muchobór must run via this route but as there is no intermediate station for a > marker these can only be identified from the Peron sheets. Last scheduled up to 8 December 2023 and use has varied from zero, through limited to extensive in recent years. Note the physical junction is north of Wrocław Muchobór station platform and as part of a successful kolej+ bid, line 757 is to be doubled to allow regular services to a re-opened Wrocław Świebodzki.

Note A: Mornings of 29 April - 7 May 2025 SuMX
As when in use previously, map view shows both directions via the eastbound split of line 763 parallel to the main line until diverging towards the west end of Wrocław Brochów yard, this becoming a split of line 349 and alongside but at a higher level to the main line [including by-passing Wrocław Brochów station] before turning towards the east end yard throat of Wrocław Brochów yards. From there until Święta Katarzyna, diversions in both directions pass underneath passenger line 215 on a 1.5km connection to re-join the main line either before or significantly after Święta Katarzyna station platforms.
Westbounds from the east end of Wrocław Brochów yard took a completely different route on the north side, again classified line 349 but through the centre of a feeder yard, then via a separate track outside substantial yards and finally a split of line 763 outside the flyover to the Wrocław western freight ring. Both routes are clearly shown on OpenRailwayMap.
Diversions had commenced with the December 2020 timetable and continued until 10 December 2022 and could be identified by a < at Wrocław Brochów.

A press article advises PolRegio ran two excursions from Zielona Góra onto the 23km long freight branch from Jankowa Żagańska to Przewoz on 13 May and 16 September 2023 to visit Park Mużakowski. Repeats were planned in 2024 and the programme confirms one ran on May 18 2024, plus also another to the freight only Nietoperek branch on August 3rd... Both year trips were advertised by PolRegio under the Programme of "Poczuj przygodę odkrywając Lubuskie pociągami POLREGIO" .

[128, 131, 134] (ERA-E 79B2; ERA-R 187A5; H11) PL25/133
A new limited local service commenced running direct from Sanok to Ustrzyki Dolne via this curve from 1 March 2023 that meant only this Zagórz east to south curve from then could be considered an obscure route. However from 15 December 2024 all services to/from Sanok and Ustrzyki Dolne were diverted via Zagórz [reverse], so they will use this curve leaving the east to west curve with no service.
After 1 March 2023 the east to south curve was only scheduled by a SKPL operated DMU TLK service outbound on May day weekend and Summer Saturday's from Kraków Główny via Sanok and the Zagórz west to east curve to Uherce to reverse, returning via this then rare Zagórz east to south curve to Łupków. The return service on the Sunday took this route in reverse, again via Uherce. In 2025 this IC does not even run via Uherce, but direct to Łupków.
Zebrzydowice
Zebrzydowice temporary platforms and yard
[147] (ERA-E 78A2; ERA-R 182A1; H6) PL25/134
The PKP Journey planner advises all usual platforms 1/2 & 3 at Zebrzydowice have been closed since 26 October 2024 with temporary platforms 4 & 5 in use. Openstreetmap shows about a dozen tracks from the station side disused at present and 1 short (peron 4) and 1 full length (peron 5) platform just to the south of the road leading to a long building in the middle of the Yard. If correct this would result in all trains to/from Petrovice u Karviné ČD using approximately 1.3km of yard tracks, at a maximum of 70m separation from the usual passenger lines. As at December 2024 the Peron sheets show this being the case until 8 March 2024, but possibly longer as from then on no platforms are shown.

Note all services to/from Lubań Śląski to Zgorzelec continue to/from Görlitz [DB] and Zgorzelec is a "v" station with the junction with table 260 considerably west of the platforms. This lengthy overlap had until 2018 only been used by an unusual Węgliniec to Lubań Śląski service calling at Zgorzelec twice after a reversal on the main line.
Obscure services: Lines used on an occasional basis for engineering work diversions
Lublin Tatary Goods Yard: Świdnik – Lublin Tatary - Lublin
[550A] (ERA-E 79B4; ERA-R 184A5; F12, R4) PL25/136
Last used from an unknown date in 2021 until 28 August 2021 by the Piła Główny to Hrubieszów Miasto train pair. This is the route through Lublin Tatary Goods Yard known as line 67 which starts at Świdnik and re-joins the normal route just before Lublin station. Trains using this route may be identified by a < symbol at only Lublin Północny.
There are no trains in the 2024-25 timetable.
Szczecin Główny western approaches
[368, 369] (ERA-E 74A3; ERA-R 170B4; R1) PL25/137
There are three possible routes between Szczecin Gumieńce and Szczecin Główny. From north to south these are:
- a single track line via Szczecin Wzgórze Hetmańskie and Szczecin Pomorzany
- the single track direct line, which is the one normally used
- the southern loop via p.odg. Szczecin Wstowo - p.odg. Dziewoklicz - Szczecin Port Centralny.
There were diversions in 2017 via Szczecin Wzgórze Hetmańskie and some via an unspecified route (with allowances up to 14 minutes) on 20/21 & 24 June - 7 July 2019. No timetabled diversions scheduled since but a later traveller is known to have travelled via Szczecin Wzgórze Hetmańskie. There are no diverted trains evident from the 2024-25 timetable.

Warszawa Praga - Warszawa Toruńska
[608] (ERA-E 76C5; ERA-R 174B5; R5) PL25/138
Between 23 - 28 August 2020 many services to/from Warszawa Gdanska and Legionowo had < markers at Warszawa Praga and Warszawa Toruńska but these used parallel non-platform lines rather than through the freight yard. For a passenger service to run the complete length of the yard and the grade separated junction at the north end, the PDF should also show a < marker at Warszawa Zeran. There are no such trains in the 2024-25 timetable.
Corridor Trains
The following sections of line within Poland can be ridden only in the through (corridor) trains of neighbouring administrations:
- (Hagenwerder [Germany] -) Hagenwerder Grenze (frontier) - Krzewina Zgorzelecka - Trzciniec frontier and Trzciniec frontier - Hirschfelde Grenze (frontier) (- Hirschfelde [Germany]) (36A2). There is a 200m stretch of line in Germany between the two frontiers at Trzciniec. The line is operated only by ODEG trains on the Zittau - Görlitz - Cottbus route (former DB table 220).
- (Zittau [Germany] -) frontier - frontier (- Hrádek nad Nisou [Czech Republic]) (36A2): ČD table 089. There are no stations in Poland on this line.
- Głuchołazy - frontier (- Jindřichov ve Slezsku [Czech Republic]) (37A1): Through Krnov – Jesenik trains on ČD table 292 use PKP tracks in and out of Głuchołazy as there is no triangle here and the approximately 13km of PKP tracks east of Głuchołazy are only traversed by ČD services. From 10 December 2006 ČD services call to set down and pick up at Głuchołazy.
